Never the poem

I give and give

Till I feel as if I will collapse

Never getting back

Always the angel

Never the God

Never stop helping

Not till the job is done

But is it ever done?

Can I ever have fun?

Always the singer

Never the song

I am getting tired now

But i will keep standing

I know you need me there

And you are far from understanding

Always the Writer

Never the Written

I fill pages of parchment

With my achey ink stained hands

Just to tell your story

Always the doctor

Never the patient

You tell me your problems

And i listen oh so intently

But i learned long ago

To not do the same

Always the Good

Never the best

Is my good not good enough?
