Submitted by EnglishGirl112

Lost in the fog

Alone in the deep

Bound by a promise

That he couldn’t keep.

Write a poem that ends with this stanza. The rest of your poem should match the structure and rhyme scheme.

Two Can Keep A Secret

I was known for my secrets Ones I will always keep The kind that will scare you Deprive you of sleep I never told anyone Not a single word For fear they will share All they have heard I never trusted anyone No one but him I decided to tell him my secrets No matter how grim He promised to keep them Swore on his soul My secrets were safe with him It was his only goal I made a mistake By giving him my trust He lied to me And i’ll leave him to rust So I stand over his body Watching the blood seep Taking note of his family As they begin to weep He swore on his soul Which no one could save And I watch as he is lowered Down into his grave Lost in the fog Alone in the deep Bound by a promise That he couldnt keep
