First, I bid that the species be named Felis astrus, after the name for domestic cats’s species- Felis Catus- and the term “Ad Astra Per Aspera,” meaning “To the Stars” in Latin, which is representative of how they have wings, perhaps unveiling a more playful and aspirational personality, similar to how “Ad Astra Per Aspera” is representative of human desire for knowledge and to become greater, and reach “to the stars”
Second, if you were to create a series on mythical creatures, it would be best to instead of including the stereotypical dragon, gryphon, phoenix, unicorn, etc, you should include species which take inspiration from such
So instead of a gryphon, you feature (par example-) a creature with a similar description to a gryphon, but is under a different name
Furthermore, most creatures will need a contrast
You have fairy-esque cats
So you need, perhaps, wyvernal canines
Of course this is up to your worldbuilding.
Finally, before you start writing, take a week or two to plan out your world and prepare small details for things such as culture and character relations/characteristics
This will allow you to more seamlessly integrate a world into your story, rather than jumping right into it!
