I’m a young woman that hasn’t reached her 30s yet. I enjoy writing because it’s a release. Growing up I read a lot and I really enjoyed Shel Silverstein and Edgar Allen Poe. I really enjoy mystery, crime and adventure. Let me know how I do. Thanks

Mike’s Mark

The trek in the woods has been an enduring battle. Constant mishaps have gotten us lost many times. It’s just me and my friend on this trip. We are both well accredited scholars. We set out to these woods to learn about the wildlife here. I brought my friend because he is my trusted partner.

What he doesn’t know, is that in these woods I have found a healing plant. This plant actually heals canc...

Birthday Princess

Today is a very special day,

Happy birthday!

I love you, I say.

A new year on the way.

Your birth brings me joy.

Here’s cake to enjoy.

I bought you many balloons,

The party, you will see soon.

I decorated the place,

So quickly, pick up the pace.

Put that dress of lace,

We’re waiting on your grace.

How lovely a princess.

Your beauty is only a success.

The crowd is endeared,

Oh, the child I re...

One At A Time

One person to another,

Each has a distinct bother.

All are the same, is fair...

Yet differences set up on air.

The mind then speaks,

Unique! The headline leaks.

To be the same is the goal,

“I disagree,” says the soul.

Could this play be a foul?

Is being the same shallow?

People are a deep multitude,

A variant is attitude,

Appearances change all around

But in living we are all bound.

Hard is h...

The Last Dragon

Mesmerized, I look up to the sky to see the flock of dragons fly above me. They fly so high, it looks like they are far from the tall buildings.

“Hello, I’m the dragon master and here is this lovely bouquet. Will you join me and my dragons to learn of a world far beyond the one you live in?”

Shocked, I only shake my head in a yes.

Never had I seen dragons! I recount the ones I spotted. A beaut...

Rest

There I saw it. After walking days after days, running away to live I thought. Here I end up in a twisted forest with a ghost in front. He’s sitting in a coffin. After that, I knew I had to understand. Darkness is here. I think to keep running but my limbs are tired. I recall the past and to continue it is a burden. The spirit touches my arm and all light goes astray....

Passing By LA

Ever been to the city?

I assure you it is pretty.

The sky scrapers tower,

Amazing is electric power,

Drove miles to see.

Here futures come to be.

The eccentric mind of man.

All from drafts, drawn by hand.

Transportation swifts on time,

For here we run, to catch a dime.

In great amounts the people enter.

To my destination, not to deter.

Countless hours in the subway.

Time to think I may.

I h...

Rain Led Me Back Home

Down in the dumps,

Constant throat lumps,

I walk down the street in thought.

Life in the droughts.

No downpour in days,

Deep in my dismays,

Just some gloom.

What in the future looms?

Thud! what?

The sky brightens the lot.

Boom!

It’s rainwater, this dryness sought.

The flush...

It’s arrived after a hard push!

The rain.

Rain, you were my wish.

I twirl in water and around I swish.

I spin in dance,...

Seeking Hope

Oh! A world without you,

The despair to go through.

The pains to lose a fellow.

Makes the world bleak yellow.

The color, a tasteless pale.

Slowly seeping life begins to fail.

The old starts to derail,

But commands a vintage point.

With the abstract evened out.

Will the picture balance about?

Frustration inside shouts!

It’s numb pain, it pouts!

The pained soul regrets much.

It’s a pin the hurts ...
