I feel my chest rise and fall, focusing on my breathing. I lay on my back, hands held against my chest as I begin to relax. My mind slowing down from an eventful day, finally silence. My eyes focused on the ceiling for a moment or two, feeling them grow heavy and weak. Soon, darkness as I try and visualize a future dream I want. Thump, Thump. I listen to my heartbeat, feeling it beat against its cage of blood and flesh. For once everything felt like it was going to be okay, I could feel myself falling into the abyss of sleep. My body shutting itself down so it can rest for tomorrow. BAM! I jump awake. Ah, yes; the familiar feeling of falling. I wonder if that happens to other people. A sigh escapes my lips, making myself relax once more. I close my eyes, regain focus on my breathing. Dream breathing, feeling myself slowly drift off again. This time successfully. Let my dreams be a good one.
A smile is on my face as I’m hanging out with my friends. In reality, I’m fucking in pain. Depression and anxiety is eating my mental health away. It’s making me stay up at night with little to no sleep at all. Restless nights as I lay in bed, looking up at the ceiling at nights. But yet, here I am with a realistic smile on my face. I have to take it so no one worries about me. I don’t want to be a burden to them, I’m not worth their time. They might even be better off without me really. At least that’s how I feel sometimes.
I always feel so alone even when surrounded by the people that I love. I feel like a stranger in the crowd, I watch them be happy and love their lives. Doing so many different things each and everyday. While I sit here, doing nothing but the same repeating thing each and everyday. Wishing for something new or exciting to happen. I need hope. But where can I find it? It certainly isn’t easy to find, but maybe I will be able to find it one day right? But for now, I guess I have to fake it until I make it.
I let out a soft sigh as I look out the window of my home, watching the clouds go by. Why did this have to happen? I was planning to meet the most amazing person ever! Now because of this virus, I can’t! I frowned a bit at the thought.
“Will I ever get to meet him?” I felt tears prick my eyes as I looked at my phone, watching a notification pop up. It was a message from my lover. A small, yet sad smile appeared on my face as I opened it. It was a good afternoon message, he sadly did sleep in. But who could blame him? He was a busy man. By busy, I mean streaming all night! I loved watching his streams, watching him freak out over some horror games. It was cute really.
You jumped when you felt your phone vibrating, seeing that he was video calling you. You were quick to answer, trying your best to look as happy as he was.
“Hi, baby!” He called out as he waved, looking at the camera. You waved and smiled. “Hey, handsome. What are you up to?” You asked, looking at him through the screen. He blinked as he looked around, thinking of what to say. “Oh you know, waking up and talking to an amazing partner.” His cheeks lit up at bit, wearing a cheeky smile. “What about you, Mí Corazon?” He asked, his brown eyes resting on the screen. You shook you head. “Watching the clouds, hoping it rains.” You smiled faintly. He noticed you didn’t look as happy as you usually do, staying quiet for a moment as he thought. “Hey! I love you! I have to go, mom is calling!” He spoke quickly as he hung up.
You sat there, befuddled and quiet. That was weird, for why? You sighed. “Not even Xavier wants to talk to me..” You felt your heart break into two. You got up from your chair and thought about what you wanted to do. It was mid spring and nobody was allowed to be outside, or at least outside in town. You decided to stream, getting everything set up and ready! It had been at least a week since you’ve streamed, you weren’t as popular as Xavier was, but that was okay! You still had fun.
You decided to stream Super Mario Party! You smiled as you began the stream, choosing your character; of course it would be Boo. You chose hard, beginning the game.
“Let’s see who will go first!” You spoke as you rolled your die, landing a five. Sadly, Bowser had landed a Six. But hey! At least you weren’t last, unlike Shy Guy! You looked at your phone for a moment, seeing there were no notifications. You frowned a bit. You looked at the camera that was streaming. “Maybe next game I’ll play with a few guests!” You smiled, trying to act like you were okay.
After a few turns, You were in second place with two stars. Rosalina was in first with three! You noticed that you had quite the viewers, making you happy. “I hope everyone is having a good time watching this! This game is going to be pretty intense.” You chuckled softly.
Hours went by and you had made a few friends from the stream, playing with them while you continued to stream the game. You groaned when you seen that you lost again in third place. “Dammit!” You sighed. “Another round?” One of them asked. “Hell yes.” You said, causing them to laugh.
After a while, you heard a knock at your door, making you pause your game. “I’m sorry guys, give me just a second..” Your mom had answered the door before you could, with her shooing you back to your room. “Ah, nevermind I guess it was for my mom.” You said as you unpaused, sitting down. It was your turn to roll, using you personal one. You rolled a seven, smiling as you watched Boo float across the spaces.
A gasp escaped you when you felt arms wrap around you from behind, quickly looking back to see Xavier. “Xavier?! What are you doing here?” You asked, tears pricking your eyes as you tackle hugged him. “I came to see you, Mí Amor.” He smiled as he held you close and kissed you. Everything felt amazing, like it was going to be okay. You felt safe and happy. You felt like you were home.
Boom! Crash! You wake up in a anxious state, feeling yourself grow uneasy. “What was that?” You ask yourself, hearing your heart beat nearly out of your chest as you sit up from your bed. You slowly get up, making your way out of the comfort of your bedroom. You just wish you could go back to sleep. But at the same time you wanted to investigate of what the noise was.
It was 1AM, who could possibly be up at this hour in your household? You place your hand on the cold doorknob, slowly turning it as your stomach twisted and turned for what could be on the other side of it. You didn’t want to anticipate it, so you whipped the door wide open. Your mouth gaped a bit as you seen the pitch black eyeless sockets looking down at you, making you quickly look away. You trembled, feeling your hands grow clammy and the color drain from your face. What was this creature?
It had dark pale grey skin, ripped mouth that drooped about a foot open, long arms and legs. Long and lanky claws, sharp teeth that looked about ready to bite into you at any given second. You heard the creature breathing against you, low growls and whines. It reeked of blood and flesh, not that you would know how that smelled; you just assumed. A loud ghoulish whine came from it as you felt one of its claws run down your back, digging in slightly. You flinched and tried to suppress any noise you made, fearing the worst. You didn’t want to die like this, but it seemed like you were going to.
Everything felt so surreal, it felt like as if you in a horror movie. You looked around, seeing if there were any cameras as if it were a prank of some sort. But if it was a prank, why were you getting hurt? You gasped when you were slammed up against the wall, the creature forcing you to look at it. The empty soulless sockets, black liquid leaking out as if it had an infection.
“W-What do you want?!” Your voice shakes with fear, gazing at its long daggered teeth. You gulped, looking back to where it’s eyes would be. It didn’t say anything, not a single word. But instead it let out a high pitched shrill, the hand around you tightening as you let out a small pained yelp. You wanted nothing more than to believe that this was some sick twisted dream- no, nightmare. The pain was too real for it to be all just a dream. You get your body shaking violently as it inches closer to your face, trying your best not to gag at the smell of its breath.
It then stopped, soon biting down onto your shoulder. You let out a loud yell, tears building up as the began streaming down. It felt like the teeth hit the bone! The pain was something you have never felt in your life, you wriggled your lower body and tried your best to escape. That seemed to upset the creature even more, pushing your body more against the wall as he pressed against your lungs harshly.
You hated this, who in the hell does this creature think it is? First, it breaks into your house, kills your family. Second, it broke something and caught your attention. It obviously sucks at being sneaky, if that’s what is was trying to do. Last but not least, it’s trying to act like he owns the damn place! If you had the strength and the courage to beat this thing up, you definitely would. But being the whomp that you were, you are just allowing yourself soon to be killed. How pathetic. It’s not like you had a good run anyways. All you did was watch anime and play video games all day. Oh, and write stories about animated characters that would never love you back. But that was besides the point! You are about to die!
The creature pulled it’s mouth back, confused to why you went quiet. It seemed like it wasn’t having much fun as it once did. It tilted its head as it looked at you. “What? You don’t seem like you’re interested now? Was you expecting me to scream more?” You asked, sound sarcastic. “Maybe I wanna die. So go on. Kill me.” You looked at it, wearing a blank expression. (To be continued)
Today was just an ordinary day for Jasper, he was making his way to his favorite cafe to get something to quench his thirst. He let out a soft sigh, opening the door to the building and inhaling the fresh scent of coffee and baked goods. A smile formed upon his face as he walked up to the counter and began to order.
“Can I please get a medium French Vanilla latte please?” He asked, looking at the barista. “Of course! What’s the name?” The barista asked, holding a Sharpie to the cup. “Jasper. Thank you.” The male simply replied, leaving the girl to do her job. He took a seat and patiently waited for his drink to get finished. After a moment or so, Jasper’s best friend had walked in. He smiled once he seen the other. “Hex!” He called out, waving at him to catch his attention. The robot looked at him, smiling instantly. “Hey Jasper! Funny catching you here!” He chuckled nervously, sitting down at the table with him. “Hex, you can’t drink anything. Why are you here?” He asked, making the robot more nervous.
Hex sighed and looked at him. “Fine. I’ll tell you.” He leans over. “You see that barista over there? Her name is Codi.” He blushed softly, looking at Jasper. “We’ve been talking for a while, but I still don’t know if she has a boyfriend. She never mentioned one before, but I think on her break I’m going to ask her out..” He smiled. Jasper nodded. “There you go bud! You got this!”
Codi noticed the two men talking, before she had called out Jasper’s name for his coffee. He stood up and smiled as he took the coffee from her hand. “Thanks!” He said, making his way back to the table. “Hey Hex!” She greeted him happily. “Hey!” Hex smiled, walking up to her. “Are you about to go on break soon?” He asked, looking at her. She nodded. “Right now.” She giggled softly, switching places with her other worker as she walked from behind the counter. She decided to sit with the two boys. “How’s your day, Hex?” She asked sweetly, resting her chin against her hand. “Ah, so far so good! I’ve been meaning to ask you something.”
That was Jasper’s cue to leave. “Oh crap, hey; I gotta go bud. I’ll text you later?” He smiled as he made his way out of the door. He sat against the wall outside, making sure everything went well for him. Hex took a deep breath, leaving Codi to be a bit confused. “What’s wrong, Hex?” She asked. “Codi ever since I met you, you make my circuits do something I’ve never experienced before..” He spoke. “I feel something in my chest when we talk or see each other.” She blushed softly. “I was wondering if you’d like to go out sometime?” He asked looking at her with a small smile.
Well, this was actually unexpected. Codi sat there for a moment, taking in everything she had just heard. “Hex, I’m very flattered that I make you feel that way.. But I see you as like a big brother..” She frowned and looked down. “I know I didn’t mention it, but I don’t like guys. I like girls..” Hex felt his heart break a little bit. “Oh..” He spoke, thinking for a moment. “That’s okay, I’m sorry for the confession. I hope it doesn’t make anything weird between us.” He chuckled softly, rubbing the back of his neck. She smiled and looked at him. “Of course not! Everything is okay, Hex.” He nodded as she stood up. “But my break is over. I’ll text you when I’m off okay?” Hex nodded as he stood up. “Alright! I’ll see you later.”
The robot walked out, jumping a bit when he seen his best buddy. “How did it go?” Jasper asked, looking at him. “She’s a lesbian.” He said, disappointed. “But that’s okay, she said nothing is going to be weird between us now.” He smiled lightly. Jasper frowned a bit. “I’m sorry, but there’s always more people to explore.” He patted his shoulder. “Let’s go home and play Fornite.” He smiled. “We can piss Whitty off.” He chuckled, making Hex happier. “I’d like that.” With that said, they made their way to his house to and made Whitty blow up that night.
