Life was good in the age of coldness but it always feels good only in the dark. There were two kids in Aspen Highlands, Colorado. It was the time of winter and snow started falling over from the sky in the morning. The kids wondered why the snow is falling from the sky ? A little while later, they forget about the question and were too excited to play a snowball fight. It was the time of Christmas, But the small kids never knew that, Hahaha. They’re Bad we can’t do anything, they were small kids didn’t know what to do when it’s winter. In the time of evening it slowly became dark and now the snow can be clearly seen. There were lights all around them. It was too beautiful for a kid to see, Hahaha. They didn’t Know and said, “ Is this a special day ? " they were too eager to ask thier parents about this special day but unfortunately they were busy setting the Christmas Tree in thier house. All the people around them were busy doing the same thing as thier parents. However, they left about the topic and started building a Snowman ! They never got the answer for the question, “ Why the snow is falling from the sky ? ”. The night was one of the darkest nights and also one fo the days in the brightest lights. The kids couldn’t stop thinking about the snow which was falling from the sky. Snowfall was one of the most unnatural and peaceful phenomena. The kids roam all around there area, But just can’t stop thinking about the snowfall. It was a magic which could make anyone become relaxed for a while. The kids never thought of this idea which could be the best moment of thier lives, I wish they were a little elder so that they could remember this memory for the rest of thier lives. I never experienced a snowfall but i think this is how it feels in the time of a snowfall. This is not the story of two kids enjoying the snowfall, it is the story of my feelings which never end. Don’t get dissapointed cause i just got my feelings inside the story.
_ Listen to the song Ethereal and Luminary while reading the story, you will have a feel._ __ _I am done _ Bai
Boy am I glad to see you !! Says Jef to the triple a tow truck worker. I’ve been out here in the freezing cold freezing my ass off. The truck driver says “I feel you. It’s been snowing non stop, I’ve been getting calls like this all morning. But in order pull your car out this snow ditch, I just need a valid form of identification to verify your account. Jef checks his pockets, and remembers that he left it back at the hotel. “I don’t have it but is there any way we can still do it !” Sorry no I’d no service says the truck guy But you came all this way. That would be a waist of your trip says Jeff Sir I was already in the area says the truck guy I understand thank you anyway says Jeff As the truck guy starts walking away Jeff reaches in his back belt rim and pull out a gun The truck guy turns around to see a gun pointed at him The truck guy freezes Jef says “do not move Now what you are going to do, is hook my car to your truck and pull it out. And if you don’t, I will shoot your wheels out and where both stuck here how about that”
Eyes dilated, each breath was meticulous.
With shaking hands that thick blood had covered, her gaze slowly drew up the snow infested driveway.
Her boots make a crunching sound while maneuvering through the snow. You’re laying on her driveway apron, suffocating. The cold air does nothing to help you. It muffles your cries for help.
She’s amused. It’s a game. She steps on your forearm and something cracks. You shriek out in horror and pain. She chuckles and stomps on your arm again. You try to relax you body but you know this is it.
There is a thwack! as she slams a metal bat next to your head. Except it wasn’t next to your head. Your skull shattered. Bits of brain now scatter in the snow. The snow is now darkening. Your blood is dying it like a snow cone.
She doesn’t stop there.
We both jumped. I took a deep breath and dragged the back of my hand under my eyes. “What was that?” God, I was pathetic. My entire body was still trembling and my voice was shaky.
_Get ahold of yourself, I thought. _
“I think the tire popped.” She said, getting up and looking out of the window. Sure enough, the RV was headed down an empty side road. As soon as we hit the dirt, whoever was driving stopped.
I stood up and grabbed Olivia’s hand, leading her out to the kitchen. Austin was looking out of the back window. I don’t know how he could see. The snow was falling in thick layers, coating the ground and everything around it.
“What did we run over?” I asked. Everyone’s heads snapped to me. I hated the look of symphathy I was getting. I didn’t want it.
Turning the engine off, James swung the captains seat around to face us. “I think there was a screw in the road. I’m gonna go check.” I nodded.
“I’ll come with you.” No one tried to stop me. I think they knew that I needed a distraction. Anything to keep me thinking about that.
A sharp pang of sadness stabbed me in the heart at. I frowned and hurried to grab my green jacket. James slipped out the door before me and held it. I stepped out and immediately wrapped my arms around myself.
_Damn, it’s cold. _
He gave me a small smile and put his arms around my shoulders. Without realizing it, I had snuggled deeper into his side. He was warm.
Blood rushed to my cheeks as I avoided his eyes. We trudged through the snow towards the wheel that was deflated. I squated so I could see it better. There was huge ass nail stuck in it.
“Why the hell was there a nail that big in the road?” I asked. I looked back up at James who was going through the RVs compartment.
He looked back and shrugged. “I don’t know. We could go look, but I don’t think that’s a good idea in this weather.” I nodded. Sounds good to me. Anything to get out of this storm. I was freezing.
We headed back to the door, only to stop when we heard a bush rustle. I looked back. There was nothing there. Then it made some more noise. This time I caught the end of something.
“James.” He wasn’t looking at me. “James.” I whispered again. He seemed to be playing with his flashlight, trying to get it back on. “James!” I shouted. Too late. The creature was gone.
I growled. Damnit! That wasn’t an animal. The footsteps were to heavy. Almost like a human. “I’m gonna go check it out.” I said over my shoulder. James said ok and went back to his flashlight.
I walked forward trying not to make much noise. When I made it to the shriveled up plant, I looked down and gasped. “Oh my god.” There were footprints. Like, human footprints.
I stumbled back a couple steps, and I almost fell when James caught me. He had walked up behind me without me realizing it. “What the hell?” He was confused.
So was I. There was no chance that these were old. The snow would have covered anything up. That means…whoever was out there, was also out here with us.
James seemed to have realized it as soon as I did. He latched his hand around my arm and started pulling me back towards the RV. “Come on, Emmy! We have to get back.” He said. I wanted to curse him. He was a lot stronger than me. I felt like my arm was going to come out of its socket.
The snow was blinding me. I choked on a couple of snowflakes and tripped on a rock I couldn’t see. “Shit!” I groaned. My ankle twisted and I crashed to the ground.
Pain lanced up my leg and made me dizzy. James was by my side in an instant. “Emerson! Are you ok? What happened? Oh, god.” He saw my foot. It must’ve been bad because he looked like he was gonna be sick.
His hands hovered over my ankle, like he was trying to decide what to do with me. “Just..take me back to the RV.” I hissed. I ground my teeth against each other, trying not to scream.
The pain was almost unbearable. Black spots swam in my vision. Footsteps sounded behind us and James picked me up. He looked around wildly, jostling my foot.
The storm had picked up and all I could see was the jacket my face was buried in. He clutched me closer to his chest, trying to find which way to go.
I only heard one thing before I promptly blacked out.
“You’re coming with us.”
[Hey! Part 4 probably won’t come out for a while because I have school and all that jazz. Hope everyone has a great day! 🩵]
Nerves struck me like lightning. I, Madelyn Grace, was nervous to see my boyfriend, whom I had known for my whole life.
Our parents had been best friends growing up, and we’ve lived next to each other our whole lives. When we were little, we would spend every waking moment together.
So why the hell was I nervous?
I honestly couldn’t answer that. Maybe it’s because I haven’t seen him in almost a year. After Ethan got a full ride to the University of Georgia, he had to move into the dorms for his freshman year. After that, he didn’t see any need to move back.
We had decided to have a long distance relationship. It worked out really well because he had a lot of holidays and always came back for his birthday.
So there I was. Sitting on a bench outside of the airport to surprise him. I guess I was worried about how he’d react. He’d been texting me the whole plane ride, so I knew he didn’t know.
I took a deep breath to relax and watched has the snow fell softly to the ground. It was quite beautiful. It always intrigued me, how every snowflake looked the same, but completely different at the same time.
My phone pinged and I looked down to see a text from his mom.
Amanda He landed!
Excitement bubbled up inside me as I read and reread the text over and over again. I knew it would take some time to go through baggage, so I settled down and throught about what I was gonna say to him she. I saw him.
Eventually, I spotted a bright blue jacket walking through the crowd. I suddenly didn’t care what he thought. It was like my mind had narrowed in on one specific task: get to him.
“Ethan!” I shouted. I took off in a full sprint towards him. He looked around quizzically, shaking snow from his brown hair.
He finally heard my feet slapping against the pavement and the crowd moving out of my way. A grin broke out on his face and my heart almost burst.
God, I love him.
I dropped my bag, barely even slowing as I tackled him. I was astonished to few tears coming down my cheeks as I wrapped my arms and legs around him.
You know that feeling, the one when you’re coming home after a long trip and it just feels _right? Thats _what this was.
I was home at last.
[Hey! I’ve been watching the news and I hope everyone who got stuck in the hurricane is safe! 🩵]
“Why does the sun no longer cradle me in her warmth?” Asks the hare as she shivers. “Now all the color has drained from my coat, and my ears are soldered black from the cold. You, too, look painted like the moon.”
He snorts, and steam weaves through air, “Must you state all your woes through poetry? You look fine. A red hare in the snow would be as obvious as blood. This way, we are both safe.” He flicks his bushy tail.
“But what am I supposed to eat?” She shuffles her long back legs, aimlessly sniffing the air. “There is no green anywhere. Everything is dead.” She studies him for a moment. “And you, what will you eat?”
“The mice have not fled with the sun and birds.” He tells her plainly. “They’re just underneath the snow.” He turns away, raising his ears to the sun. “Follow me. I will show you where to eat.”
“You are not tricking me, are you?” She watches him warily, standing in place.
“Tricking you?” He swivels his head. “Do you believe I would do that? Don’t you remember that we’re friends?”
“You’ve grown taller since I last saw you. Are mice enough to keep you fed?”
He speaks briskly, “Mice will feed me fine.” Then continues walking, letting her choose whether or not to follow.
She hesitates, then leaps after him. “How do you know where the mice are?”
“I smell them, and I hear them crunching on buried leaves. Can’t you smell too?”
“My nose is much weaker than yours.” She confesses. “I can barely smell a thing, in this cold.” Her soft feet dance elegantly through the snow, leaving whiskery marks in their wake. The fox is much nimbler, taking great and silent strides.
“It’s just near here.” He murmurs as his footsteps slow, “I’ll use my nose.”
He pauses to sniff the air, his tail swishing idly. Then he walks again, and the hare hurries after.
“Ah-ha!” He stops, and presents his find to his friend. In front of them is a bright young tree, the bottom bark stripped down to reveal delicious green innards.
“Oh!” She gasps, “How did you find this?”
“I’ve seen the other hares come here to feed.” He tells her, “They’ve ripped out the bark, so you won’t have to do any of the work.”
“You were…watching hares?” She tilts her head at him.
“While trying to find you, of course.” He says. “I’ve been hoping to see you.”
She’s still for a moment, then smiles, and goes to eat her fill. The fox smiles back, the fur on his paws carefully concealing the streaks of warm, dark rabbit blood.
The winter was at it’s prime. It was one of the coldest, heaviest, and dangerous winters i had ever experienced in my life. What else could you expect from Greenland. I was choosen by our township’s appointed leader to travel from our hometown Kapisillit to Sarqaq to do a trade off. This wasn’t very unfamiliar to our township, having random people selected to do this missions. Never once have they choosen a women before. They believed the women were meant to stay with our children to protect them whilst the men hunt do the trade offs, amongst other things. They saw something in me, they had to of seen something that thought i was worthy the job over a man. I feel nothing but the intense need to prove to them that they did see something in me and I could make this journey. It was in between a 2-5 day trip depending on how bad the snow was. We generally would work departure dates around when we thought snow was on the rise but it wasn’t always easy to tell. I left with nothing other than a snowsuit, the bison and artic fox skins i am to deliver, a backpack filled with basic needs (food for 3 days time, a buck knife made by my father and water for 5 days), and my snowshoes just to be prepared. The first day on the mission was easy, a blast even. I took somewhat of my time and when the sun first started setting i set up camp in a nearby forest. I found pieces of wood and after a bit of stuggle managed to get a fire going strong. I sat there grateful to have the honour to explore the world and go somewhere other than the town ship. I ate that days meal which consisted of simpily a few dried greens we had stored but it was enough and soon enough i was asleep by the fire under the bison skin. The next day comes and that’s when the snow began, i’m in the middle of nowhere trying to figure out what the right direction is and right as i figured it out the snow came in so hard i could no longer see 10 feel in front of me. I marshed on towards to direction I thought was right and within an hour or so the snow had stopped. Luckily I did indeed go the right way and felt confident about the rest of the trip. Yet again before I knew it the sun was setting and it was time to set up camp. I found a small collection of trees and decided that was my best bet in case the snow were to start again. this time I didnt get the luxury of a fire due to the previous snowfall along with no twigs to burn or start the fire. I was destined to get there tomorrow so one night in the cold wouldn’t do me any harm. I fell asleep yet again embraced by the warmth of the bison skin, just to wake up to mayhem. I awaken to the sight of at least 2 feet of snow possibly three with the snow continuously coming. Trying to preserve the day light a lowest amount of snow I had, I began to continue to trech through the clearing. This moment i was extremely glad I had brought my snow shoes or I wouldn’t quite know what to do. Although I had a way to get through the snow I had no way of seeing what was infront of me so i had to go souley based off my instincts. As I’m making my way through the freezing cold winds, the brutal blast back off snow from the wind, and the heavy fall of the snow I hear a howel. It was loud, aggressive, and hungry. I speed up. Attempting to get away from whatever made that horrible sound. I walk and walk and walk and continue to hear nothing then I feel something pull my pag backwards causing me to fall. I look up strugging to see anything, all I saw was white. Until I saw it’s beady black eyes. They were desperate, angry, and clearly ready to do whatever it needed to in order to eat. It was a polar bear. I had heard plenty of stories about them from the hunters but yet to see one in my entire life. I knew the minute I saw its face over mine, what it was. I quickly as possible unstrao my bag but as i’m doing that I see the beasts claws come flying at my face. I without thinking put my arm up to protect myself, leaving a bloody gash on my arm from the animals razor sharp claws. Using my other hand I grab the buck knife and just started to swing it around any which way that I could. Leaving a note deep cut on it’s stomach and a much deeper one through its left claw. From the stories the hunter’s have told the one thing I know not to let happen it let the animal get his teeth sunken into me because when that happens, it’s not letting go. I scurry up as quickly as I can and stand up, the bear even more enraged than before steps back and stands on it’s hind legs. Clearly ready for me to attack and so I did. I ran at the ravid animal with my knife above my head hoping to hit its head or heart, instead punturing his stomach. This time not so lightly the animal has now gone into complete fight mode. As soon as the knife hit it the bear when down from it original position and got me in my back, a great big gash. I yet again stab the animals paw hoping for release and it did. Now looking at the bear this is it, no more playing around this beast was ready to get over and done with this it was ready to kill me. It charges at me with full force, jaws open reasy to indulge into my skin. I tried my best to wound it before it could get to me but unfortunately I was to late. The animal had its jaws completely locked on my left arm and out of complete quick thinking and life or death moment I took the knife to it’s head, it was over. I had taken the life of a polar bear. The guilt was a whole different feeling ; it was a living this, It was just hungry, there could’ve been another way to deal with this.- looking at the blood red snow was being all these feelings as i couldn’t bare to look at the life i just took. In shock and pain i simply pick up my things and continued my journey is immense and obvious pain. Before i knew it maybe 15 minutes later i see it. The big torch with i shield around it i was told to look for. I limp over and people are there to greet me for the exchange but once they realized how seriously i was injured they put me on a husky sled and brought me into their town. They treated my wounds with what they could then escored me back to my home then let me out about a 15 minute walk befoe reaching my town as they felt everyone would be more comfortable that way. So i set off with items we had gotten in return for the skins and finally make it home. The concerned and respective looks on everyones face upon my return is something i will never forget. They now saw me as a warrior including the men. As i’m getting settled in being home and being friend by our nurse for my woulds a large group of hunter’s come up to me and tell me they respect what i have accomplished. Along with an invite to the next time, all I said was “well next time maybe a few people should come with me!”
The boy supposed he now got the phrase “biting cold.” At first he thought it was something his Grandfather and the old people spoke long ago. Sorta like “cool cats club” or some other odd terminology.
“C’mon Ethan!” the boys older brother called.
Ethan stared at him as he pushed forwards. The older brothers footprints were so much bigger than the little boys, if one could even call Ethan’s, “footprints,” at all. One look at his and one would conclude they derived from a little, struggling animal, unable to hop through the snow. But no one could blame the little boy, for these flakes nearly came up to his waste.
It wasn’t as though he was trying to fall behind. His small legs were submerged in icy cold snow the second he took another strained step. If only there were such things as wishes. Ethan’s would be to grow a little more. Not too much, but just so he could walk through snow with a bit more ease.
Mother had bundled him up as best she could, but even the shirt, two jackets, the large coat on top, his gloves, his two pairs of socks, and the snow pants he wore did little to block the “biting cold.” Oh, and also the hat and earmuffs.
“Billie, I can’t!” Ethan whined as loud he could. His voice was as small as him, but at least it got him things when he wanted them. At least he was cute. Point is, as one could imagine, it came to his advantage—“no” was a rare word usually never directed his way.
The frost nipped at his small nose and his chubby cheeks. Both were pink and almost numb.
He stopped walking. The taller figure of his older brother continued onward. Ethan would not stand for this injustice. He threw his arms to his side then pounded the snow with his fists. “Billie!” he pouted, drawing the name out for dramatic effect.
Finally the brother turned and walked towards him. “I told you couldn’t come if you weren’t gunna keep up,” Billie said. Ethan stared angrily up at him with fake tears threatening to spill over at any given moment. His tiny hands were held into even smaller fists.
Ethan’s older brother scoffed and snickered. “You look like a walking, bedazzled dumpling with all that extra stuff.” He motioned to the multiple jackets of striped blue and reds and the hat patterned with penguins.
The little boy pursed his lips and growled with what he hoped was a menacing expression. Obviously it wasn’t good enough.
“—an angry little dumpling,” Billie corrected. “C’mere you little fart.” He reached down and picked Ethan from the snow, walking onward once more.
Ethan glared at his brother as hard as possible, but Billie never looked down at him. One day he would teach his big brother a well deserved lesson about ever having called him “little” and “fart.” He was one to talk. His brown hair looked like Bae Bae’s excrements after eating a bad piece of chunky wet cheese, and who would want their hair to ever resemble a chihuahua’s diarrhea?
“Ethan, if you keep staring at me like that, I’m going to drop you,” said his brother out of nowhere.
“No!” the boy argued.
“What, you don’t believe me?”
“_No.” _Ethan picked up his arm and hit Billie on the chest of his thin jacket. He knew it was a bad move, but vengeance is best served cold, as his Father would say, and now was the perfect time to hand it out.
“That’s it.” Billie stopped walking to drop Ethan into the deep snow below. He immediately sunk down the moment he hit the little shavings of ice.
“Billie!” he screamed and it was then that he let his counterfeit tears drop, although he imagined they were a bit more real now.
The taller boy looming over him, snorted and sighed. His dumb blue eyes were mocking. Ethan always thought they looked like a slushy before some one could get to drinking it—disgusting and disappointing. The type of thing that would make you cry, and not in a good way. But then again, nor was he very clever with insults.
“You spend too much time with Mom,” Billie said. Then he reached down and helped the little brother back to his feet. But the second he was righted he started to try and run away from his brother. Billie tossed a snowball at the back of his head, and Ethan fell face first into the snow.
Ethan screamed and cried while his brother laughed and pointed.
“Billie. Bob. Boiler—!” Suddenly the two boys mother called through the window just inside their house.
“Oh _shit.” _Billie swore and ran to Ethan, righting him back on his feet with one, swift motion and a “Get up. Get up. Get up.”
“YOU BUTT HEAD!” Ethan roared, and tripped through the snow, back to their house. “Mommyyyy!”
The sun light is glistening off the untouched blanket of snow making it sparkle like a blanket of diamonds. It was the first snow fall of the year on the first of December no less and it was still steadily falling. Yet school was not closed; I swear the second ice age has to hit before they close Madison schools. It has been that way my entire life. A snow day was a rarity in my childhood. I remember staring at the television screen, watching the names of schools, scroll across the bottom, waiting for Madison to come across the screen. Feeling the greatest disappointment when it didn’t or the greatest disbelief and joy if it did. Well, I am whisked back to my childhood that morning waiting for it to say Madison schools closed only for my hopes to be dashed when it didn’t happen. So now here I am bundled up on my front porch only my eyes are visible with all the winter gear I have on. At least I’m not like the kid in a Christmas story so bundled up that I can’t even put my arms down. Tracy pulled up; chains attached to her tires. I am enveloped in a comfortable heat as I climbed into the front seat and after buckling myself in, I immediately held my hands in front of the vent to warm them up, the gloves I wore were clearly inadequate. "You look like you are going on some artic expedition." Tracy commented dressed in her light tan suede leather sheepskin lined coat with the hood up and black furry gloves. "With Wisconsin weather I feel like I might as well be." “It’s not that bad at least the high isn’t in the single digits.” I was about to reply when my phone alerted me to a text, I dig my phone out of my pocket and look at the screen saying I had 1 unread text from Draya. I go to my messages and open the text it read {Call your parents at lunch today and ask them if it’s okay if I pick you up from school today and if you can spend the night at my house? I am going to need my personal little furnace today and I don’t want to wait until 11:00pm tonight.} I quickly text back {I will, I don't think it will be a problem.} "Who was that?" Tracy asked. "Draya." "Of course, I should have known." "She wants to pick me up from school and have me stay at her house tonight, so I need to call my parents at lunch to clear it with them." Tracy didn't say anything and just nodded. When we picked up Hallie, she giggled at me saying "You don't have to wear your entire winter wardrobe at the first sign of winter weather Sare Bear." Hallie was wearing a black coat with gray fur around the hood. "I miss summer." I grumble. My attire was completely forgotten when Kelsey climbed into the car wearing a leather lime green button up trench coat with fur on the collar and cuffs of the sleeves, with matching lime green fur hat and lime green leather gloves. "Seriously Kelsey what are you thinking? You look like the grinch." Hallie said still laughing. “It wasn’t my idea, my parents got me this, my brother thought it was hilarious too.” “What does Dillon know? He is a 20 year old man who graduated high school with a 4.0 GPA and could probably get into any college he wants, which your parents have offered to pay for, yet he lives in your parents' basement and only has a part time minimum wage job.” Tracy said defending Kelsey. I remember how cool and handsome we all thought Kelsey’s older brother was when we were growing up, it’s a shame, he turned out to be such an unmotivated loser. When we picked up Raquel, she came out wearing a white fur coat with the hood up. Her hands are currently in the coat's pockets, with matching** **snow boots. It contracted dramatically with her dark skin. When she got in the bus and took the hood down, we discover she also had a matching furry scarf and earmuffs. "Well, hello miss Eskimo princess." said Hallie. "Screw you, I am rocking this look, and you know it." "Yeah, I agree. White suits you RaRa." I say.
I held back a groan when we pulled up to the school and Tracy shut off the engine. I didn't like school ordinarily anyway, but I really didn't want to get out of the bus abandoning the comfortable warmth, but then Hallie who was sitting up front with Tracy and myself opened the passenger door and cold air swooped in stealing away the warmth that was surrounding me moments ago. As we exited the car Brain disengaged himself from the snowball fight that was being held and ran over to our group, wrapping his arms around Raquel before the bell rang and everyone filed into the school for their first class.
Finally, it was time for lunch. I choose the chili and saltine crackers that was being offered that day. I set my try down with my friends at our usual table before I excuse myself for a moment to find a quieter area of the cafeteria to call my mom. Luckily for me my mom has her lunch at the same time as me and she always takes her lunch in her office. I find a relatively quiet corner before scrolling through my contacts before selecting the one I had been looking for. It rings three times before my mom picks up "Sarah, is everything alright sweetie?" Of course, my mom recognized my number. "Everything is fine mom, but Draya sent me a text and wanted to know if it would be ok if she picked me up from school and if I could spend the night at her house?" "Well, ordinarily I would say yes right away, but if the is going to be driving the thunderbird I just don't trust that car in the snow." "I don't think she would be driving the thunder bird mom, she would probably barrow something better suited for snow driving from Celeste." "Well, find out and then let me know and if you do go, I still want you to get your homework done." "I will mom and if you can hang on, I will text Draya and ask about the vehicle situation." "Ok sweetie, I'll hold on." I put my mom on speaker while I send Draya a text. {Hey, mom is concerned about the vehicle you would be picking me up in being good for winter weather.} She responded almost immediately. {Not to worry, I will be driving Celestes silver Subaru outback it has AWD and Subarus are known for being good winter driving vehicles.} "Ok mom she says she will be driving a Subaru outback." "Alright, in that case you may go, just call me when you get there ok." "I will, thanks mom." "You're welcome, now go eat your lunch sweetie and have a good rest of your day." "Ok you too mom." "Love you." "Love you too mom, goodbye." "Bye." After I hung up with my mom, I texted Draya {Mom said yes!} {Good I almost can’t wait to see you.} {Almost?} {Well, I would say can’t wait, but if I said that I would be picking you up right now.} {Looking forward to it! 🥰💜} With that last text sent I returned to the table to quickly eat my lunch. I was looking forward to the end of the day so much that I didn’t even care that the chili had gotten a little cold in the time it took me to make the call to my mother and have the short text conversation with Draya.
The rest of the day went by uneventfully. My classes seemed to drag by slowly, each tick of the clock bringing me closer to an evening with my Draya. My last class of the day was study hall and I tried to get some of my homework done, but was having trouble concentrating as the thoughts of how I would soon be with my angel and spend the rest of the day with her were distracting. Honestly, I could use a cuddle session. As soon as the bell rang, I booked it out of there and made my way to where Draya usually picked me up. I spot the silver Subaru already waiting for me. I sprint over to it and climb into the passenger seat as the heat in the car engulfed me. After getting in and closing the car door I practically launch myself over the middle console and wrapped my arms around Draya. “Well, someone is certainly happy to see me.” “I haven’t had any extended alone time with you for a while and you and me being alone in my room at night doesn’t count because my parents are right down the hall so it’s different.” “I know; I think the last time you spent the night at my house was… my birthday.” “Far too long for me. I demand lots of cuddles and attention and when we get to your house.” “And what about more… intimate activities?” she asked, and I recognized that tone all too well. “Start with cuddles and we’ll see where it goes from there.” “Okay...now do you think you could release me? As much as I love having your arms around me, I think I would find it quite difficult to drive like this.” “Hmmm…” I hum pretending I am thinking about it “…okay, but only because I know this will be more enjoyable in your bedroom.” I conclude unwrapping myself from around Draya and buckling myself in. I look at Draya as she drives engaging in one of my favorite pastimes of observing and admiring her. She was wearing a black turtleneck with a red zip up vest coat on top with a hood and brown fur lining the outer edge, dark blue jeans with a tapered leg that disappeared into brown leather winter boots. She had her hair pulled back into a high ponytail and I think this is the first time I’ve ever seen Draya with her hair up. It’s nice and shows off a pretty pair of medium size gold hoops but in the shape of hearts. I can see that she is also wearing the necklace I gave her for her birthday; in fact, I don’t think she has ever taken it off since I gave it to her; except maybe to shower because I know she did the morning after thanksgiving as we had showered together that morning. "You're being awfully quiet, tell me what's on your mind." "Nothing, well ok not nothing...just you." "Me huh?" "Yup I am admiring you...it's become one of my favorite pastimes." "What do you admire most about me?" "I only get to pick one? That's impossible because I love everything about you, I love the way you have your hair today its very pretty, but I also love it when you wear it down, long and soft, flowing over your shoulders and framing your face, I love your eyes and how they captivate me, I love how you wrinkle your nose when I Boop it in my playful moods, I love the way you smile at me and when I see it my whole world is brighter, I love the sound of your voice it takes my breath away every time, I love your cool smooth skin and how beautiful it is and how good it feels against my own when we lay together, I love it when you hold me how safe I feel protected by my angel, I love how you tease me about liking inaccurate vampire books and tv shows, I love that focused look you get when you are sketching and about a billon other things that would take too long to list. I love you, all of you everything." "My darling princesses I...I... I am left without words. I love absolutely everything about you too princess, absolutely everything." I smile at her affectingly and am smiling the whole rest of the way to Draya's house.
When we arrived at Draya's house, we went straight up to her room, stripped down to our underwear and crawled into her bed for a much needed cuddle session. As I laid there in Draya's arms content and happy, the rest of the word just fell away until it was just me and my angel and nothing and nobody else matters.
THE END Next story is titled Illness
I for some reason am having difficulty ending my stories, like sometimes I am in a good place for ending it, yet I feels too abrupt, but I think I did ok with this one.
Sorry for any punctuation, spelling or grammatical errors. Yeah, not my strong points.
