The feeling you get when you see something, someone, you’ve been waiting for a long time walking towards you. Mix that with the touch of ice beneath your palms - comforting, but also a bit painful after a while. Imagine that person you’ve been waiting for leaves, walks away. The feeling you’re left with, mixed with the ice, is the sound of the birds chirping in the trees. You know how the forests twinkle before sunset, spraying the sunlight throughout peaked pines and crackled rocks? The birdsong is that, too; the call of a mourning dove is the tear of a grieving widow, left alone after years of love. These images, these feelings - these make the sound of the birds chirping in the city. A bittersweet pang of something natural, leaving you wanting more before it vanishes.
it’s like when you’re at a stoplight, and the person next to you has their hip hop music playing too loud and you can feel the bass. it’s like when you lean against dryer and it’s still running. it’s like when you start a car with a diesel engine. and it’s like being pushed into a cardboard box that you don’t fit in, panic embracing you. it’s everything all at once. i don’t think there’s anyway i could truly explain it.
It sounds like the feeling of paper crinkling in your hands It makes your lungs feel full, as if you’ve just taken a deep breath It makes your knees feel shaky, like you’re addressing a large audience It makes you feel like a dust mote in the shining eye of the universe And yet, so big that you could flatten forests with a flick of your hand It feels like old bones scraping together And new tears falling on a page full of writing The sound of wind is like all of the world being a puzzle at your feet
The rain, is my favourite sound; the heavier the rain, the better. It sounds the way taking a deep breath in feels. A wave of calm washes over you and your mind clears. Rain creates sounds, so different with every drop, its like music. Changing its sound by changing its shape and its weight and the structures that it touches. Dancing in the rain, is like being inside of the music that you enjoy. While you listen to the melodies of the water, you have the privilege of feeling them on your skin. Immersing yourself in the perfect combination.
A violin is a magical instrument that produces a gorgeous sound. The bow gliding across the strings produces a light scratching, one like someone’s fingernails gently on your back, giving full body shivers. A good violinist can produce a melody that produces an array of colourful rings that give way to light and airy melodies, like a gust in spring on a prairie. The violin can also evoke emotions as strong and real as those of a first date, a day of your favourite holiday spent all alone, and a trip down a damp and dimly lit hallway. Listening to a violin is a timeless pleasure, one that takes time and effort to perfect.
Is there anything better than the sound of a story unfolding? The metallic ping of a key The sigh of the writer, Each carry the weight of a world. The story of a lover Or the sound of well hidden fears, Put into words, instead of woes tears.
When I hear typing Furious and quick, I know that someone Has been fooled or tricked. And then when I hear The soft clicks and clanks, I know that an old soul Is taking words dance.
Is there anything better, than the sound of the keys, Writing words like “I wish you here with me?” Is there anything more beautiful Than the silence between, Each word and each thought Of a writers melody.
You know, it's like... well, you can't hear it, but I'm gonna try to explain it. Imagine you're standing by the edge of a lake, the soft breeze playing with your hair, and the sun warming your skin. It's one of those perfect days when the world feels alive. You look down and see a handful of small pebbles in your hand. They're cool and smooth, almost like they're meant to be there.
You take one of those pebbles, hold it up to your eye level, and feel its weight. It's not heavy, but it has this comforting presence. And then, you let go. You let it drop from your fingers, and it falls, almost gracefully, into the still water. That's when it happens.
As that pebble makes contact with the water's surface, there's a magical transformation. The water, which was so quiet and undisturbed, suddenly comes alive. It's like ripples of laughter spreading across the surface. They dance and twirl, catching the sunlight like a thousand diamonds. You can see the concentric circles, a reminder of that tiny moment of connection. It's like the water is laughing, joyous at the interruption.
The sound, well, it's soft, yet vibrant. It's a gentle plink, a musical note in the symphony of nature. The pebble's conversation with the water, a secret shared between them. You can almost feel the serenity, the delicate harmony. And there's this feeling in your chest, a warm sensation, like a hug from the world itself.
That's my favorite sound, and I wish you could hear it because it's not just about the sound; it's about the moment, the connection, the joy in something so simple and beautiful. It's like the world whispering, “I'm here, and I'm happy to have you in it.”
