Growing Strong
Write a poem that starts with this line
Writings
Growing strong Frost gnaws on my flesh Beneath my winter coat
Snow embedded into my bone Tearing open my muscle Hope of replacing it with sheer cold
But I stand in front of her Praying I can hold my ground And remain undeterred
Her tongue though It’s made out of ice
I will not escape her winter
Growing strong.
Strong is not just muscles and physical strength, so what does it mean?
Strong is having faith in a better world, the unknown and it is having confidence in yourself and trusting your instincts.
Strong is believing in yourself and having determination to make your dreams come true.
Strong is never giving up, even in your darkest hours when life seems too much, you never give up on your life or yourself.
Strong is being brave, courageous and valiant.
Strong is loving without knowing what the future holds.
Strong is vulnerable and asking the right people for help.
Strong is having compassion, feeling and understanding.
Strong is showing the people you love that you love them and hold them dear.
Strong is showing how you really feel, whether sad, angry, tired or happy. Validating your feelings and thoughts is a sign of strength.
Strong is being not afraid to tell your story, to believe that letting go of the past is something that will benefit you and move you towards a better future.
Growing strong is tough, it isn’t always easy but when you truly work on your inner strength, the person who appears will not be the same that was there once before.
Growing strong From fire and steel Skin forged by metal fibres And reinforced By impenetrable armour So that flesh is never breached By enemy invaders
But brittle are the bones Beneath the framework Woven from glass thread And paper pins This model It seems Is only strong Until it is Weak
Worry not, my love, your scars will heal over, and new skin will erase the memories that haunt you in your waking hours. And your voice will lose the shakiness, that projects your emotions into the stratosphere. And your heart will calm itself, and give you a moment of peace, for the first time in years, since you were cut down when you were still green. Worry not, my love, that pain isn’t you growing weak again it’s you growing strong at long last.
Once upon a time there live an girl named Lucy.she had a mother called Mira. They both lived happy even without Lucy’s dad after he had left them behind to marry a richer woman just because they were not enough money to him.one day Lucy said to her mother “can I go and play outside please mommy.” Her mother (Mira) said “yes as long as she would come back at dinner time.”when Lucy went outside she felt a cold breeze and she said “ooh it is cold”
“Oh yes isn’t it so cold I only just noticed-that”whimpered an young prisoner looking teenager stepped out which no fear. The feared girl looked terrified and in a shy voice asked the man who he was.
growing strong or growing cold— which is the best way to escape your hold?
do i sprout a spine and tell you we’re through? or do i ignore your control and simply make do?
if i gain enough courage to leave you forever, that could break my heart but also my fetters.
or if i stay in your embrace and simply endure yes, my cold heart will be numb— but frozen things shatter.
growing strong will hurt for i’ll be tearing myself loose. but growing cold will break me; now which one do I choose?
Growing strong Moving along Held up by hands that have moulded, My burdens shouldered I trace with my fingers, pressing into my soft skin This brand new year is mine for taking, fresh with opportunities, and happiness within
My tears have cleared my vision, and I’ve cleared my schedule for me The candles are lit, the phone is off, and my mind is freed
I will be loved. I will find love. Because that is what I deserve Comfort and soft blankets and memories to preserve
They teach and preach the hate, sell products to promote their cause In this harsh and dreadful world, the most rebellious you can be is loving yourself and flaws
