what would you do with it?

close the wounds worth creasing?

your fingers tracing every vein and tugging gently to shake me awake

i could drown in your skin

i think my heartbeat would be slower than my normal crazy

i think the warmth from your single finger and it’s presence would be enough to capture it and blow away...

thoughts dripping away

like steady rain

leaving droplets to fall

slowly down car windows

i hadnt known

souls could intertwine this way

for the first time

pressureless

you’re the first to feel real

to feel comfortable

to feel okay

we lay together

skin to skin

hand in hand

heart to heart

i wait for the sinking feeling

wait for the nausea to set in

Tear it right out my chest

Or threaten me with thoughts of death

Because of this, I build these wall

Intent on keeping the world away

So no one can harm me where I stay

I am alone because of this

But rather be safe then in fear

All the dangerous far and near...

Leaving me alone.

Broken on the bathroom floor.

Sobbing until my lungs collapse.

And my legs go numb.

A wreck with blood.

Left to spoil.

Like the milk you promised you’d drink.

So fragile and useless?

So young and clueless?

Would you abandon it,

Like a wrapper,

Unwanted and pointless?

There are many things that you can do

Some of them bad

Some of them ...

Inside my heart,

What would you do with it?

That is the only question I must preach

In the work of art

That is words from my heart.

I want to know,

How would you treat my heart

If it were controlled by you?

Would it be broken,

Shattered?

Or worse, forgotten?

Would you leave my heart behind

In the darkness within your mind?

I know exactly what you would do

You just wouldn’t want to say it to my face

You would want to rip it right out

No hesitation

To be honest

I’d do the same

A question I ask you but fear the answer to.

I’d hold it tight, but not for the reasons you think I would.

I want to see the limits of your heart; will it still beat for me if I crush it between my fingers, would it hurt if I take a bite, will you squirm if I poke with a thousand needles?

Or would it beat just as it always has...
