Most don’t know, The stories of the sailors, Who travelled across the Mayoar Strait, Because most don’t survive.
But I did. And whether it be fortunate or not - You can decide - I will tell you my story.
Beneath the waves, Where you cannot see the mainlands, There lurks a monster, The Monster of Mayoar Strait.
Most you ask will say it is mere legend, And will give you some foolish explanation, But those who have travelled near, They understand the horrors.
It is large, Is it is it small. It is vicious, It is gentle.
The creature takes many shapes, It is different for everyone. It was kind to me, But to most, not.
For me, it was swirling, It was still, It was disturbing, It was comforting.
It let me live, I am unsure of what it saw, Why it let me pass safely, Safely home.
I did not want to argue, I did not want to push, I wanted to leave, Leave behind the horrors.
Roaring waves come crashing down, Falling to the old, worn boards. Throwing limbs across the deck, Towards the storm and promised gold.
Brave the tides. Brave the sea. Treasure lies in unknown waters. Against all fate. Against all hope. Promise me, you’ll get the gold.
Monsters slash, the krakens bite, Foes bear arms, in hopes of light. The rain comes down, the thunder roars, But all that matters, is gold unharmed.
Wounds uncovered, flags are teared, The treck goes on, stay strong, stay strong. Mountains rise, and curses cast, Stay in line, go find the gold.
Brave the tides. Brave the sea. Treasure lies in unknown waters. Against all fate. Against all hope. Promise me, you’ll get the gold.
The sea was dark and the ships were being thrown around. There was a thunderstorm lightning was striking about every minute. The color of the lightning changed with each flash. The ship was shaking so much a couple of people were almost thrown off the edge.
The waves got stronger and the rain got heavier. There were ships that would dissapear and then reapper. At first it looked like the ships were just hiding behind the clouds, but the ships were actually fully dissapearing and reappearing. The vanishing ships were actually ghost ships.
One ship seemed to be making the waves harsher. As I was watching the ship a large burst of lightning appeared from the sky. The color of the waves lightened slightly. The ocean waves were now lavender. The sunset was slowly starting to be seen as storm clouds cleared. There was still lightning however as if the ghost ships were causing it to storm.
The adventure of the century; The One Piece My father first went on this journey to fight for his life, he was a pirate. The citizens of his city didn’t admire him, they rebelled against him, which resulted in many deaths, hangings and beheadings. As he was on the ship, he came across something that wasn’t on his map, called the All Blue. He thought something had to be there, since it was hidden from all humanity. After he went in, he never came back out. I didn’t know that my father had gone missing, since I wasn’t on sail with him. We all mourned in his death when it was 2 years later. I thought I had to find where his boat is, or at least try. My mother had told me not to leave, since she thought I would go missing as well. I didn’t listen. I set sail from a boat I borrowed from my friend, Usopp. He decided to come along, too. We were in the East Blue, with monsters and pirates tracking our every move, I didn’t know what to do. But I didn’t let anything stop me. I was looking at the map that my friend, Nami, made. She figured out somewhere many people have gone missing, thinking my father might’ve been there. The All Blue. We made our way there, and we encountered the previous villains we’ve seen before, all together. They consisted of; a clown who can rip his body into pieces and not die, a fish who has excellent swimming skills, and a regular pirate who really didn’t have any powers. She does know how to might, though.
Part 2 will be coming soon And yes, this is off the anime One Piece, but in my own version
(This is just an idea of a story I have. Please don’t use it)
Ok this young adult girl who has supernatural powers. She lost her parents to the ruthless king who eliminates anyone with magical powers. She and her brother are full blooded so they are more powerful than the kids. She has a super mind (mind reading, mind control, advanced intelligence) and her brother has space bending (time manipulation, teleportation). They sail around the kingdom rescuing kids with powers. They use the pirate ships that her grandfather used along with navy skills from her father. Her father was a navy captain before he and her mother were killed. She was safe with her grandparents. When they find out that there are no more kids to rescue (somehow), they now have to take a passage guarded by sirens. In order to pass, they have to give a royal heir to the sirens. She and her brother then kidnap the youngest brother who is first in line. They sail to the passage and are about to sacrifice the brother when the older brother comes to rescue him. (Idea: her brother acts as help just so the brother comes because she knows about his secret.) Anyway, she tries to use mind control but something blocks it. She then finds out he has the powers to interact with the dead. He is half-blood and finds out his father poisoned his mother. Before he can object, she sacrifices the brother and sails through, taking him prisoner. After she convinces him that they are good, she helps him control his powers. They eventually fall in love and that’s it. Maybe find another problem and cliffhanger.
I’ve been captured… I thought as I sat, gagged, blindfolded and tied, hand and foot, in the small rowboat, squished between two of the five bulky sailors crammed into the small boat. We were headed towards the Quintess, ship of the cruelest and most mysterious pirate known to man. No-one has ever seen them, nor their ship, and lived to tell the tale. It’s even said that they use magic to conceal their ship from the outside world, only the crew of the ship know how to find it.
I suddenly heard the sound of wood against wood and felt the small boat jerk to a stop and fell forward, nearly going overboard. As I did, the five sailors all burst out laughing. Then one of them pulled me to my feet by the collar of my shirt and spat onto my ear, “Be’er not go overboard boy! The cap’n won’t be happy if that happened” That caused them to all ring out in laughter again. “That’s right!” One of the others said, “And the crew will want to see yer head, wouldn’t wanna disappoint ‘em!” That aroused yet another round of their mind numbing, drunken laughter.
After their laughter died down one of the sailors pushed me towards the edge of the boat and tied a rope around my hands and pulled it so tight it cut off the circulation. As soon as he finished tying the rope, I heard what sounded like metal grinding, then the rope around my hands started to drag me upwards. I groaned in pain, it felt like my arms were being pulled off and my wrists burned as the rope pulled roughly against my bare skin. The rope smelled of rotten fish and rum, not the most pleasant combination, it made me want to puke. It didn’t help my stomach any when I was suddenly jerked over the side of the ship and thrown on my back.
I laid there, winded yet grateful for the moment of calm. Then that moment of was interrupted by a rough hand dragging me to my feet. The smell of rum was overwhelming as the sailor untied the rope that had hauled me onto the ship just moments before. I flexed my hands trying to regain feeling in them, but just as I started to feel them again, they were retied, just as tight as before, cutting off the circulation once again. When the sailor let go of my wrists I lost my balance, because of the ropes around my ankles, and fell painfully to the rough wood of the deck. “Hah! The farm boy can’t even keep ‘is balance long enough ter stand straight!” One of the sailors gawked as he kicked me in the side, causing an eruption of pain to shoot through my whole body. I doubled over in pain as I felt another kick, to my stomach this time, and all the sailors burst out in laughter.
“Now, now boys. Is that how we treat our guests?” I heard an eerily familiar crystal like voice say. A panicked shuffling of feet followed then one of the sailors said quickly, “ Uh- we’re sorry cap’n! We didn’t mean no harm! We was just messin’ around with ‘em!” “I’m sure you were Darnell.” the voice said again, This time I recognized it…
Story continued on Wattpad! (Sorry if that's inconvenient, it's just easier to post full books on Wattpad!)
Sebs jaw dragged along the gangplank as the trio walked up the steep slope towards the cruise ships entry way.
He had never been on a boat this large, he doubted he had ever been on anything this large ever.
He looked down to the water below and felt his vision spin and laughed rocking back nearly crashing into Bryony whose knuckles were white on the handles.
Harri was behind her dragging a large suitcase that she refused to let the stewards down below take. Seb looked behind them at the annoyed faces of other boat goers waiting for their holiday.
“Sorry!” Seb called down. Grabbing Harri’s suitcase as well as Bryony, throwing them both over his shoulders and marched up the gangway. He laughed placing the two down on the shiny wooden deck.
“If I didn’t feel so violently ill I would smack you up and down this deck. It looks smooth enough you should only get a dozen splinters.” Bryony warned, her legs shaking as she rose to her feet.
“Thanks Seb.” Harri added giving him a gentle tap on the back before pulling up the handle of the suitcase. The sight making Seb chuckle, the suitcase was almost as large as Harri and with the handle up it came up to her shoulder.
“Right.” Seb clapped his hands. “To the room then to the buffet!”
Seb had never been on a cruise before. He had never actually even been on a boat before. Now here with his two favourite people in the world they would finally be able to relax for a while and just enjoy some time together. And hopefully get a tan as well.
The ship was absolutely massive and Seb couldn’t quite believe how it stayed afloat. On the main deck there was a wave pool, a regular pool, a bar, another bar, three hot tubs and a snack vendor. Walking past all that the trio ascended up the stairs towards their room.
Through either luck or good graces the trio had been offered the trip now that the war had ended and the bulk of the fighting afterwards was over. There team was one of the luckiest having not lost a member through the course of all the fighting. Not that it hadn’t been close, Seb, Bry and Harri all had scars to remind them of that fact.
Half dragging Bry along Seb opened the door to their suite and bruised his jaw as it hit the floor. The room was massive, with sectioned areas that would serve as a living room and a designated changing area.
Doors led to bedrooms as big as Seb’s Appartment with beds as fluffy as a cloud. Leaping across the room with the strength of an Olympian and the grace of a man falling from the sky Seb slammed into the pillows like a WWE wrestler and groaned in comfort.
“Uhhhh Seb.” Bry said from the doorway “we might have a problem.”
“Nope. No problems allowed” Seb replied his voice muffled by pillows.
“This is the only bed.” Harri said, leaning against Bry in the doorway.
“It’s the only what?” Seb shot up from the bed. Looking at his friends, both shared the same disappointed look.
He waited. Surely they were going to say this was a joke any second now.
“Only one bed?” Seb murmured.
“Sound familiar?” Bry asked, fighting a smile.
“You little fan fiction freak.” Harri laughed.
Seb laughed falling back on the bed. The two girls broke out in laughter and leapt onto him the three all holding eachother tight. A feeling they had come do to more often over the last few years, over the war there had been times that it felt like they would never be able to do this again. So now any chance they got they let the others know how much they mattered.
After disentangling themselves the three donned swim suits and made for the massive pool deck. Seb wearing trunks with cartoon watermelons on them that made the girls cringe, both claiming he was giving off “dad energy” making him only laugh more.
Harri wore a black bikini with frills and a large black lace sun hat. Bry wore a blue and white one piece with a beige sun hat.
“Now begins the toughest and biggest adventure of our whole career.” Seb began. “Not only must we conquer all of the pools, but activities are common place and we must master several of them while also attending the dozens of buffets with food from around the world.”
“Not to mention the shows that are on nightly.” Harri added.
“Oh and there are some clubs and apparently they stop at some island!” Bry excitedly said.
Seb was happy to see her now adjusting to being on the boat.
The three deserved this nice trip. It was time to relax, they had saved the world and helped clean up the mess afterwards. Now it was time for their reward, not that they did all they did for a reward. But it was nice none the less.
And then a giant sea monster attacked
Nah just kidding.
What a privilege it is to be A barnacle out at sea With my home on the hull of a boat On an ocean adventure I float
I’ve seen places and so many things Of which other creatures only dream On a ship tossed and turned by the waves I’m a part of the crew, true and brave
I’ve seen a close call with a whale Who damaged the boat with her tail A plank-walking pirate passed by On his way down he said hi
I’ve sat in the docks in strange lands And hear voices I can’t understand I’ve found myself covered in tea From a ravaging rebel melee
I’ve often been kissed by a fish One particularly do I miss But sadly the boat travelled on And the love of my life was then gone
Other barnacles stay on the rocks To get stepped on by sandals and socks But some of us travel the earth For the truest sea creature rebirth
Yes we only have one life to live So why not give it all we can give? Sail the world over, just take it from me A barnacle out at sea
(Non-literal interpretation of Genesis 1)
In the waters of the ocean was the Holy Spirit. There she witnessed space become night and day, the realms become sky and land, plants and animals envelop the world. And there she wondered why.
She wandered the seas of the world billions of years ago, the scars of molten magma yet to heal, the boiling flame yet to dim in the sky, and yet to grow brighter. It was good.
She wandered the waters of creation, some millions of years ago, and there the child found something, a being. The first of its kind, too. It was good.
She wandered the vents of the seabed, a soup of foreign chemicals now home to a litany of unique but similar specs, moving around, duplicating, dying, killing. It was very good.
She wandered the vast chasms till she found fish, freely swimming in the first shoal of many to come. It was very good.
She wandered the shiny green beaches till she found amphibians, crawling onto the surface to forever change the history of life, and she smiled. It was great.
She wandered the forests till she found beasts, great creatures crawling the landscapes cross many continents. She smiled still. It was great.
She wandered the sprawling peaks till she found birds, the monarchs of the skies. She soared among their flocks, and grinned. It was amazing.
She flew through the plains till she saw man. Man confused her, they held sticks and built nests like birds, but those sticks had rocks on, unnaturally placed there, and beamed. It was perfect.
For it was the beginning.
In the wake of the vessel leaving port, and in so doing leaving everything Fayd had ever known behind, he swore he saw something.
It was as if a smooth, diminutive hand reached up from the foam and waved farewell to the vessel. Since he was the only one who saw it, he would confirm that very night and be ridiculed for it, he liked to think it was waving at him.
Throughout his time at sea aboard The Orion Forestay he would think of the hand and it’s meaning. Within a few months, his rumination on the event would shift from mermaids and fae to the more symbolic.
His mind had clearly cooked up the image to cope with leaving his life behind. Fayd was not an unintelligent man. He’d learned English quickly and well enough to have impressed the crew, which was no small feat. When the people around you have seen the Aurora, their standard for wow is fairly high.
But still, in his private moments, when the work was done and the break of the waves was gentle, he scanned the dark surface for hands waving him on or beckoning him home.
He never did see another. But he didn’t mind much. No, not very much at all.
