POEM STARTER

Write a series of five Haiku set at the same event, exploring the five senses: sight, smell, sound, touch, taste.

A Haiku is a form of Japanese poetry, consisting of three lines that generally do not rhyme, with a syllabic structure of 5-7-5.

The Ocean Awakes

Sand and some pebbles,

Mossy plants and large rough rocks,

Underneath my feet.

Salty water smell,

Bringing sweet memories,

With each slow inhale.

You Taste the water,

The salty familiar taste,

Coating your dry tounge.

Each bird sings a song,

The waves beat against the sand,

Children laugh and play.

The water deep blue,

The sand a calm hugh of Brown,

The Ocean awakes.
