3 Snow White wolves approach. 3 bringers of my demise. A low howl escapes the biggest one, bringing back up. My heart endlessly pounds in my chest, filling my ears will dread. My feet grow hearty holding me to the ground like weights. I just came for a hike, I didn’t bring anything that could help. My heart drops in my chest, I didn’t bring anything useful. I force my feet off the ground and dash with the speed of 10 men. I run breathlessly, no direction in mind. That is, untill I feel the weight of fur on my back. _They caught up. _A small shreek escapes my lips as it’s teeth sink into my shoulder. The blood spills down, being the last thing I see before my consciousness fades forever.
I didn’t mean to kill him. I was just trying to scare him. I didn’t know he’d lunge at me. It’s not my fault, it’s his. He cheated, he yelled, he lunged into the knife. Yeah, I jumped into the knife. I never stabbed him I was just holding it. Right? The blood stained knife drops from my finger tips as I realize what I’ve done. His dewy dull eyes stare up at me, his pale hand clenching the stab wound right in the heart. I need to hide the body. With what little strength I have left I drag his cumbersome body to the woods out side our house. _Fuck I forgot my shovel. _I bolt with every bone in my body back to the shed and make loud clanks as I dig for it. Then I find it. The rusted pole of the shovel connected to the silver spoon stares me down as I yank it and dash back. But I’m too late. Our neighbor hopped the fence and found his lifeless form with the phone already up to his ear with the police talking calmly. As this one little mistake out of rage, ruins my life.
Smoke perforates the room spreading to every corner of the trailer. Mold clings to the corners of each suffocating wall. The couch cushions sink and trap you in their hug making you fight to escape them. Grime and dirt cover the carpet in a stained furry, coatimg your feet in dirt whenever you walk across. The filthy cigarette tray and drained alcohol bottles fill every surface and every corner trapping you in the drowning scent of self destruction. Worst of all, no matter wher you go your never alone, the boosting sound of the ball game on TV always playing to remind you. Every suffocating second in that trailer breaks you more and more. Every “Your a women shouldn’t you be cooking?” And “Your 7 you should be old enough to take care of the kids.” Breaks down your pride bit by bit till your an obident daughter just like he wants. The longer you stay, the more you fade away.
A small gasp escapes from her _o _shaped mouth when my shaky hand plunges the knife into her gut. Wide watery eyes meet my as tears shower from her eyes like never ending waterfalls. “I-I told you I didn’t cheat…I-I told you I wouldn’t lie…W-why won’t you…why didn’t you believe me.” She stutters out through broken tears and groans of pain. The knife shivers at my unstable hand. I just wanted to scare her, I never meant to stab her. Hatred still fills my expression despite my fear. “Lenora told me he had his hand on your hip. You were smiling and blush-“ She’s quick to cut me off in my crusade. “Lenora is a caniving- agh…A caniving bitch who wants to- ow…Wants to…Wants to steal you from me, from your…” She stops, the speech halting before her lips do. She grunts out in agony when I pull the knife. A deep red crimson stains my hand as it drips from the blade, red runs from her gut to her hips and side. I can’t look, even in my memories I can’t. A final cry leaves her lips as she limply falls into my arms. She’s like a sack, devoid of life. Her once shiny eyes dulled over with a goo like substance. I drop her crimsion staining my reflection. Shrill cries escape my mouth as I fall to my knees with a thunk. I pick her limp body onto my lap and caress her hair one final time. Red bleeds into her blonde hair from my dirty hands but I couldn’t stop myself. I weep myself numb as a way of goodbye to her. ——————————————————————————————————————————————————— My bitten lips shut as I tell the detective in brown all the details to the final moment he arrested me. He sighs and takes me to the jail cell, where I’ll rot. My sanity dying as her body decays. I close my eyes in sweet acceptance of my punishment as I breathe my last breath of free air.
As my finger tips slip from the cold gold door knob, I know I’ve left for good. The warm brown wood of the front door stares me down reminding me of what I’ve left. My eyes glance over the cream colored house, the lights are still on filling the rooms with an orange colored hue. “Goodbye, it was a good run. But nothing good ever lasts.” My words come out soft and sentimental. I turn my back on the house I once knew and loved as a shaky exhale escapes my lips. I flick the wooden match out of its box and swiftly swipe it. It glows a burning orange flame and I throw it behind me. Any evidence of the crime committed will be burned along with the sweet happy home. I will miss my wife, her soft voice, heart lips, fluffy hair that runs to her sides, the little giggle that escapes her lips when she laughs. But she shouldn’t have pissed me off when I was drunk and had a knife in my hands. This is her fault not mine. Right? Who am I kidding, I ruined everything. Just like I always do.
“Ow!” I wince at the fangs sinking into my skin. I hear my boyfriend mutter a _sorry _through his clamped down mouth. A small gasp bursts through my lips as the blood drains from my neck. He rolls his eyes and digs his sharp fangs deeper into the soft side of my neck. The wound from last time he needed a feast is scabbed and apple red. After his last slurp of thick blood he retracts his fangs and licks the mark left behind clean. I shudder at the feeling of his tongue on my neck and he rolls his eyes yet again. “Come on you know I need to eat. You don’t want me to starve, right?” His gruff voice attacks my ears sending shivers down my spine. “N-no, I don’t want you to starve.” I meekly reply. “And you love me, right?” He asks as his grip begins tightening on my hips. “Yes, of course I love you.” I answer as if my life is on the line. “Yet you can’t do this one thing for me? This one little thing, you can’t do it?” He interrogates now bruising my hips. “No I- yes yes I can! I-I promise I can.” I trip over my tongue unable to capture my shakiness from entering my speech. He smirks then speaks in a low whisper. “So you don’t mind if I drink a little more right? I did a lot today and I’m just _so _hungry.” He grabs my chin tilting it to the side to expose my neck. I’m already lightheaded and dizzy, but he needs this to survive. Right? I can spare a little more, just a little more for him. As he sneaks his teeth I let out a small whimper. He sucks and sucks for what seems like hours as I slowly lose consciousness. My limbs fight to stay strong as they become to cumbersome to lift up on my own. My eyelids droop ready to give in and sleep. Despite it all he keeps drinking. One final shaky exhale escapes my lips as I fade away from reality into an eternity of slumber.
I pop the sugar sweet lolipop out of my mouth a lick my lips. The man in blue smiles in response. “What did you say your mom looked like again?” He asks holding my hand as we search the park. His voice is warm and sweet, it reminds me of a T-show host. “Mum has long brown hair! Oh! Oh! And she tall like realllllllllllly tall! She has a pink dress on too!” I explain skipping and squealing as a do. He laughs at me and asks another question. “And your mums name is?” “Mum.” He laughs at my simple one word answer. His big soft hand covers my head as he roughs up my golden brown locks. “Ah I should’ve guessed. Then what’s your name kiddo- and I mean full name please.” He asks through laughs. His tummy laughs with him, dancing up and down. He has soft features that remind me of my dad with baby blue eys and shaggy long blonde hair. “Rosalinda Irene Heart!” I reply loudly, holding my hands proudly. He laughs again a big hearty laugh. I pout at his non stop mocking. “Such a pretty name, here let’s get you back to the station and we’ll find your mom in a jiffy!” He says while picking me up and messing with my hair more. I can’t lie, I do miss my mother. My mum always said not to talk to strangers. It’s a good thing I didn’t listen to her. He takes a sharp turn down an ally spinning me in his arms as he does. “Hey! Isn’t the station down the street? Why are we going down an ally mister?” I whine which causes the man to smirk in response. “Oh don’t you worry! We’ll make it to the station and back to your mom. But first I wanna play a game. It’s a special game only me and you can know though~” He taunts setting me down on the concreate floor of the ally my vision starting to blur and my thoughts becoming mixed and fuzzy. He starts his stupid little game. The memory blurs and crumbles as I jolt awake from my nightmare. _God I hate that man. _Despite the night of torment being over and done with for many years at this point; he still haunts my dreams, how I dress, who I trust. Like a never ending plague cursing my every breath till I die. My mum said not to talk to strangers. I wish with all my heart I listened to her that day.
Flames boil and burst around Elenor as she sips her evening tea. She slightly burns her tongue with the honey sweet tea and scowls. “MOM CHRIS STABED ME AGAIN!” Her youngest daughter Rose complained with blood tickling from her abdomen. Elenor sighed at her whiny daughters complaint and set her tea down on the snow rim causings a charming clink to erupt. “Christopher what have I told you about stabbing your sister? Your supposed to be an angel, not a grimey devil. And Rosalina no more setting fires! I’ve already been fined by the fighter angels 10 times this month.” Elenor scolds her naughty children with an authoritative tone. Rose looks down and grips her wrist, meanwhile Chris chuckles a hearty laugh and couldn’t care less. “Christopher.” Elenor says sternly. Chris snaps up into shape and scrambles to apologize. “Ha ha sorry mom! Yep I will tooootally never stab Rosie again ha ha, Scouts honor!” He does a mock solute to prove his honesty much to Elenor’s dismay. She sighs and shakes her head while crashing a palm against her face. The bright hue of the fire disappears as the fire angels put out the swirling fire started by Rose. And Elenor sighs for another day of hell in heaven.
The clacking of the keys encapsulates my thoughts. Words flow from my finger tips like an endless waterfall of knowledge. And yet, it all sounds like shit. I throw my back against my hard wooden chair and groan.
_“Maybe it’s time for a break?” _I let my thoughts wonder. My heavy body picks itself up off the chair and flops onto the fluffy couch. As I bury my head into the couch it hugs me in a warm never ending embrace. That is, until the ding of the doorbell breaks my comfort. With a large groan I force myself off of the couches warmth and to the annnoyingly bright front door. With a gentle pull I open up the wooden plank of a door to the cold darkness of the outside.
“I’m so sorry to knock on your door this late sir.” A meek voice fumbles out of the young lady standing at my door step. She has long strawberry locks flowing down to her hips in tight braids with bows. Her dress flows with the wind in creamy eggshell tint. Her heart shaped face and ocean blue eyes could soften the heart of any grinch she stumbles upon. I feel warmth bleed into my cheeks as my eyes flicker down to her.
“Oh n-no your fine Miss.” I stutter out tripping over my tongue. She giggles making my heart speed out of control.
“Well sir, my car broken down across the street, and my phone ran outta juice! Could you let me borrow your phone for a minute, sir?” She asked twirling her hand between her finger as she spoke. Her voice was soft and sweet like an angels.
“Oh uh yeah sure! W-why don’t you come inside?” I offer without thinking, the burning red on my face becoming too much to bare. She giggles yet again and skips inside to the warmth. I break away from my frozen flustered state and creak the door shut.
“Hey mister!” She calls out already running rampant in my house.
“Ah- yes?” I call back going over to her, I don’t have the heart to scold her for running around.
“Where’s your phone? And why is your basement door chained shut? Why do you have no windows?” She asks one question after the other not waiting for a response. I open my mouth to let out a deep sigh of air.
“I’m an author, I like to keep my current works under lock and key till I’m finished. Thefts are common and I’d be heartbroken if my life’s work was stolen by some thug.” I explain tiredly gently guiding her away from the basement, she doesn’t need to see that yet.
“Got it! You’re a weirdo! And what about the phone? I’d really like to make it home as soon as possible, new MafuMafu album came our and I _need _to listen to it.” She asks yet again. I don’t want her to leave yet, I want her to stay. No ones ever made me feel this way before.
“Phone doesn’t turn on till tomorrow moring. But I’d be happy to let you stay the night! I’ve been having writers block anyways.” The lie slips through my teeth like a serpent. She rolls her baby blue eyes and crosses her arms.
“Oh alright fine. I guess I can here wait till tomorrow. Better then freezing in the cold I suppose.” She reluctantly agrees with a groan. I couldn’t be more excited to have her stay, she fills me with more warmth then a fireplace. I quickly lead her to the couch and lay her down with a plop. I drape her with my fluffiest blanket and smile. Her eyebrows furrow, and she frowns a bit. I can’t possibly imagine why shes upset, perhaps she’s thirsty?
“I could whip up some tea for you if you’d like! Wouldn’t be any trouble at all.” I offer tripping over my words with excitement. She doesn’t answer for a minute. Closing her eyes, thinking it over.
“Yeah alright, tea sounds really nice actually. Thanks Mister.” She accepts lean against the couch as she takes out her strawberry braids. Her fingers dance along her hair beautifully, I just want to take her fingers into mine and never let go. I hop off to the kitchen filled with a new life, re-energized again. I fill the kettle with water and set it on the rusty stove top to boil. When I see the thin strip of steam flow out the top and hear the pops of the boiled water I pour it into her teacup. I picked the one clean cup I have, she deserve perfection after all. I wait till shes not watching to add my special suyrup. It smells sweet like candy, I’ve never had to tatse it though. I sprint out and give the tea to her.
“Careful, it’s hot.” I smile as she takes it from my hands.
“Thanks mister, I appreciate it.” She thanks softly making my heart flutter. I sit right next to her watching her every sip, enjoying the way her lips curl around the rim when she sips. Her eyelids drop as my secret suyrup kicks in.
“I think….I think I need to, hit the hay…” She gets out before falling onto my shoulder. I chuckle and pick her up into my arms. Her skin is baby soft and shes light like a feather. I set her down for only a second to unchain my basement and gently lay her down on the concreate next to the skeletons that line the walls. Then I turn my back, lock up the basement, and leave her to rot like the many girls that came before her.
Here I am again. Laying in the fluffy snow. No coat, I never needed one. The snow bites and claws my skin, fighting to embrace me in a frosty hug. I don’t fight it, I never have. I allow my cumbersome body to sink into the now melting snow, as if I were all but dead weight. The snow starts to melt away my senses. Snow doesn’t care if you had or have a life, loved ones, memories. It just consoumes regardless. My skin begins to become senseless. All thats left is the embrace of the cold snow, freezing me in place. The warm liquid of my mucuse flows out of the confines of my stuffed nose. My ears? All but the fuzzy noise of ever still snow. I force my hand from It’s icy prison one last time to clutch the wound staining the pure white snow with a deep red. The warm blood fights against the frosty ice to claim me. But as I close my eyes it’s all but too late. As I take my final breath, I let the snow capture me in it’s peaceful hug forever.
