The raw sun rays blasted through the clouds. the Sky was bright and blue. On the bench Sen sat there his eyes scanning the children all playing on the run down instruments of fun. A short brown haired kid was brave enough to try and attempt to go down the metal lava that was the metal slide. The air was grossly humid and the unwavering heat from the sun had baked it like a oven on the highest setting. The air around it distorted as the waves of hit microwaved it. Sen sat up and watched with full interest as the kid climbed up the stairs then stood over the instrument of third degree burns. With a loud gulp the kid swung his body down the slide. Instantly A heart pounding scream ripped from his throat as the skin his shorts exposed stuck to the slide Sending unbearable waves of pain through the boys body. He was stuck, like a rat caught in a mousetrap. No matter what he did he could remove himself his skin was melting against the slide. It was consuming him, holding him still to leave its mark. The laughs of the children turned into shirks of horror as they watched the poor boys skin develop into sick blisters and welts. The parents of the boy finally realized what was happening and his farther rushed to him. He tried desperately to lift his son off the monstrous grip of the slide. The boys skin stretched unnaturally like a thin piece of gum. The smell of burnt flesh stunk up the air. Sen had to pitch his nose. Then with a rip that froze the entire park the skin on the boys leg ripped off. Leaving a pool of sizzling blood on the metal. Along with what was left of his leg. Sen decided he had seen enough and walked away. “Poor child.” He said his eyes were just blank like they always were. He had no reaction, no emotion. But deep inside he cared or Atleast thought he did. He walked all the way to the nearby beach that was beyond full of humans. Especially sense the day was now reaching its peak.
I’m not gonna lie I will miss it. The fun I used to have, nights full of sins and a thrill that only lasted mere moments and the pain that followed. I look eagerly at my hands as I lay in my bed covers all over the floor. “I can’t believe I’m really about to do it. I’m going to stop this once and for all.” My eyes were crusty with dry tears as I drag myself out of bed. I tiptoed to the kitchen my eyes glancing every photograph hanged on the wall as I went. I saw a younger me. A much happier counter part who was not tainted by the evil cruelty of this world. Tears roll down my cheek, I press my hand against the wall. “If only you knew what the future had in store. I wonder if that smile will be as bright..” I asked myself. Of course, no one answered. Not like I wasn’t used to it. I counted every step to the counter holding the beautiful, sharp metallic blades. I choose a large chefs knife . It’s polished blade displaying my dead eyes reflection. I wonder how long it’s been since there’s actually been any life in them. Maybe last year? Anyways it’s too late to turn back now. I walked into the bathroom. My dull stare welcomed me through the mirror. In my heart I could feel something tightening. something telling me there’s another way. That this was the wrong choice and I should just go back into my room and go back to bed. Was it her? Speaking to me from the afterlife? I’ve let her down. Im a failure to everyone. I take a deep breath and gripped the knife with both hands at the mirror before turning it on myself aiming directly at my heart. I felt a rush of adrenaline that I’ve never felt before. I was the most confident I’ve ever been, I was the one in control. I close my eyes and thrusted as hard as I could. And then it was over. The blade had ripped a hole in my heart. I collapsed on the floor as blood poured from the wound. I felt myself slipping out of consciousness. My body felt ice cold cause the lack of circulation. My mind flashes with the memories of the happy times. Isn’t it cruel they only show up when you’ll never be able to make new ones? And then it was like time stopped. No pain, no sadness, no nothing. I close my eyes and allow myself to pass on to the next life. Maybe I’ll be reborn into another world, one that I actually had a chance in.
The frightful sounds of ammunition leaving high caliber weapons punched my ear drums. I carried all I could manage to grab before the bombs went off destroying everything it touched. A dark cloud of smoke impaired my vision . the pungent smell of sulfur and gun dust stung my nose. From behind me I hear a woman loudly screaming after being crushed by the walls that used to provide shelter. The walls that were build to protect, destroyed instead. I turn around as I ran. She weakly outstretched her hand, begging for help. The sight was too much I turned around and continued towards the one place I thought was safe. I book it through the tree line . In the distance I heard another whistle and my eyes widened in horror before I closed them bracing for impact. Another loud BOOM violently slammed me to the ground knocking all I carried in front of me. They invaded us when they promised they wouldn’t. My hand clenched to a fist. They said it was inhumane and animalistic, for a army as power as they were to slaughter people who were far inferior to themselves. Heavy tears dropped from my eyes. I look in front of me. A picture of a distant life stared back. Me, my mother, sister and father all happily smiling at the camera. Our faces not worried about dying or anything like that. We were safe. I slammed my fist against the mud. “WHY DAMN IT! WHY MUST GOD BE SO CRUEL!” I screamed at the sky. I dragged myself up. A strong heat send waves through my body from my leg. I turn around seeing a deep gash, blood flowing out from the wound. It took every fiber of my being not to collapse right then and there. Maybe I could’ve seen them again. This life couldn’t be better than what’s waiting on the other side. We’re they smiling then? When they were promised that helping those devils train would ensure they’re safety. They lined them up outside the town and had their men a couple yards in front of them guns ready. They shot them dead and then some. I saw the whole thing and had to hold my mouth shut from screaming every curse I could muster. I limped forward my old boots sunk into the mud until I eventually made it to the tree. I knocked on it three times and it opened, a large gate served as a portal to the inside. I fall in not being able to support myself anymore I passed out.
I miss the softest of the grass underneath my feet. The little sound it makes when kicking a rock across the road like a soccer ball. The faint cheers and cry’s of children playing tag, and the paranoid eyes of the parents making sure their kid’s didn’t hurt themselves. The old straw huts that couldn’t even block out rain and yet still provided protection and safety. There’s no elder telling me off for not wearing my uniform. No one who knows what I have done. No judging gazes, full of hatred and disgust. Cursing me underneath their breathe, the really mad ones would do it to my face. No handcuffs restricting the slightest movement of my digits, stopping me from unleashing my powers. I sigh and look that the deep crater that used to hold the water. “Perhaps, I did went too far.” I shrug.
Kaguto awoke in a strange place. he could reach his hand out in front of him from either side of the room and touch the wall. it was intoxicating like every breath was a tick of a timer. His red eyes showed him in a cube. With no windows or doors anywhere. each breathe sucked the limited oxygen out of the room. He banged on the dull red walls around him. Hammering on it desperately trying to escape. He couldn’t focus on his breathing he became a black hole emptying every cry and shout until his windpipe no longer could support itself. his claws clasped his throat as the room around him refused to still. He tried and tried for even a single drop of air but couldn’t and each failed attempt brought him closer to unconsciousness. He pointlessly tried to rip through the wall. But his muscles were deflated. He fell on his back as his once bright power ruby red eyes dwindled to a faint monochromatic red. Being what he is he couldn’t pass on, the demon wouldn’t let him. Like throwing dry wood in a weak fire his eyes burned again. He awoken still suffering like he was a second a way from death. He kicked and kicked at the ground before sitting against the wall. He knew it was no way out of this. This box became his next hell every second was another lifetime full of pain and torment. He would be crying if there were anymore tears left. He laid on the floor endlessly living and dying. Days went passed and Kagato was unfortunately still alive when a crack started to form throughout the walls. It grew wider and deeper until eventually a light blue ray of light shined through right in front of him. With it, oxygen.
