I couldn’t look at my daughter’s distraught face when we confessed her real mother and I had a hookup behind my wife’s back. Tears welled in the corner of her eyes, snatching away the letter left by her real mother. She held back choked sobs as she read through, she paused glancing back up confusedly then back down at the letter numbly. My wife sidled next to her, giving a reassuring hug through her own tears and betrayal. Tears were now running down her face as she teared her eyes away from the letter. Hiding her face away in her hug. She shot a withering look at me, but that’s okay. I deserved it for what I did. Even my wife, even after eighteen years to come to terms with my affair, couldn’t meet my eyes. “It’s going to okay.” She murmured through sobs, her hands shaking and her smile was wilted her face had a glint of silent grief. I had hoped to never see those eyes again, but now here they were, next to another pair, neither mine or hers, but the ones that no doubtably belonged to that woman all those years ago passed down like a really, really inconveniencing echo. An echo of a horrid affair. She screamed something at me before storming away, my wife called out for her. Briefly looking back pityingly before going into her room.
I huffed, blowing away a strand of hair. I’ve been stuck in this stupid castle for the longest time and no prince or knight wanted to rescue me. I glanced at the sleeping dragon, I have to do everything myself. As the sun crept up, I grabbed the nearest sword. The dragon roared, I screamed back, bearing the sword the way all the other knights have. ——— I stared the corpse. Blood covered my hair and face, my clothes ragged and ripped. I swung the sword one last time over its neck. Hiding its head in my bag. That was easy, I wonder why everyone talks like it’s a huge deal. I kicked of my heels as I walked along the stone path, “The princess, has returned!” The people clapped and surrounded me in joy. “Your highness!” They all crowded and bowed, “Where is the prince that save you?” A hushed silence spread through. “Where is the King and Queen?” I asked the nearest person, “My highness, I’m sorry to say the Queen Meredith has passed. The council has taken charge as we waited for your return.” They bowed, No wonder, those greedy pigs probably didn’t want me to come back at all. My father probably doesn’t want to see me at all. “Tell them I’m back, and I demand my crown.” “What of your prince?” I scoffed, “there was no prince.” I marched up the steps where the council waited, they gave me disapproving stares. “Your highness! We’re so — glad so see you have returned! Pray tell where the prince or knight that has rescued your highness.” I straightened my back, feeling the crowds already forming. I tipped back my chin, “There was none. I have slayed the great dragon myself.” A silence was suddenly broken up by laughs from the council and crowd. “You? Your highness, you are a woman, how could you possibly do that?” In fury, I flung the dragons head over their feet. “I have! I now demand my throne! I’ll gladly go through any of you pathetic men to do it!“ I swung the door open as they crowded around. “Your highness! Reconsider!” “Please your highness!” “Your father the King is still-“ I swung the door of the throne room. My dad stared coldly, “Daughter, you’ve come back.” “I demand the throne.” He laughed, “I will not step down, and you are a woman,” “I AM! And I demand my throne! Your not worthy of that crown!” He smirked, “And what will you do?” I grabbed the sword from one of the knights. His blood was now running down the throne and stairs. With bloody hands I picked up his head, swiftly grabbing the crown and placing it on my head. “Do any of you object?” I asked, pushing off his dead body to the floor. I glanced at the shocked guards and horrified council. “No? Good, let’s get to business.”
Day 15: I know I only have borrowed time, the government could find my lab at any moment. This is for the court for when I’ll most likely be captured. My boss at home will understand, oh right laughs He fired me, I forgot, what was the reason anyway? From memory it had something to do with the risky and “inhuman” expirements. Anyhow, I’ll make the most of it, I just need four more weeks and people will finally understand these things are more than what people think they are. Maybe then, people will understand why we started this war against them and stop with their “sympathy” for them. But however, right now my test subject isn’t very compliant and he finds the most inventive ways to escape. Of course, all in vain nonetheless, he’s asleep currently but today he shows little development. After sawing his wings off for study I’m disappointed to see that unlike the popular belief, they do not grow back their wings. However, they do make good decoration.
Day 16:
The test subject keeps insisting to be referred as “Gabriel” the name his kind gave him. Correction, he says it’s his “parents” so very interesting how this species works. The subject has not given any vital information about their culture, but says that they certainly do not consider or call themselves “Angels” as we’ve been classifying them under. The humanoid species is very dull and show no signs of divinity other than their wings and blood.
Day 17: Mission for food was a success. However the government may be closer than I thought. We’ll have to move elsewhere.
Day 17: I am freezing in a makeshift lab in a abandoned warehouse in Alaska. The test subject is laughing at me and trying to escape as always. The government nearly found me, but that’s besides the point. Most of my things was left behind. Fortunately I’ve managed to bring many of my tools.
Day 18: I finally did it! laughs I did it! They’ll believe me now! The test subject is unconscious. The FBI is surrounding the building, when they find this, and see what I did, I’ll be pardoned! Laughs again
Day 19: So, this was the log that crazy man always talked into, he’s pretty dead right now. Sighs I’m so glad this is over, and hearing over his logs, this man truly was gone. The government has me in questioning for now, but I’m back with my parents again and this is probably the best day in my life. I never thought I’d be back home.
I was playing in the woods when I saw a strange woman humming to herself, “Hello miss!” “Why hello dear would you like to help me pick some daffodils?” I nodded enthusiastically, “I love daffodils!” I held her hand as I skipped happily into the foggy mist unaware of the disapproval of my parents and the dangers I have presented for the nice lady.
A car raced past me I turned on the police lights and followed them. I was right next to them when I realized that DOG was driving the car! In different circumstances I’d be laughing my face off. “Please pullover now!” The dog turned to me, “WOOF!” It moved in a way that made it obvious that someone was moving the dog to make it look like it was the dog. Finally I got whoever it was, to pullover. Only to see that some kids were playing some sort of prank. “Please, god help me!” I sighed.
I was playing out in the snow, “Cold! So cold!” I realized, there was a man in ragged clothes shivering violently that feature that startled me the most was his blue skin. “Are you ok, sir?” “S-so c-c-cold!” “I-I’ll get you a blanket, sir!” I ran up to my house and grabbed a quilt that was heated by the fireplace. But when I came back, he was gone!
9:00 AM
One of my coworkers was making out with their girlfriend. Note: Get eye bleach
10:00 AM
BOOM!! Richard, my best friend fell from the second floor to the first hall. “Uggh. Oh! Hi Mathew!” He waved at the camera. I laughed.
12:00 AM
Apparently the security guards and a handful of my coworkers decided to play in the ball pit.
3:00 PM
A robber snuck inside, I laughed as I watched the janitor fend him off with a mop and some dishwasher soap.
12:00 PM
My shift was over. Note: tell the manager that the janitor needs a promotion.
I watched from my green hill as the violent war raged on. An enemy soldier bursted in, exhausted. I shrieked, “I-I just need-“ he fainted and I was left with a difficult decision.
I need to get up! I screamed at myself but wake up my body refused. A few times I’ve managed to faintly see a young woman taking care of me. Finally I managed to get up. “Be careful. You’re still weak.” “What?…” ever since that day me and the lady (Pearl) met and talked everyday in secret I revealed I was a girl in disguise but to my surprise she loved me the same.
The man, now woman ( Selene) we would laugh and talk together. Until one day, I found out that Selene was burned once they found out she’s been sneaking off. I cried and wailed that night.
Forty years later
“Her village found out and burned her too and sowed her eyes shut, so even in death they couldn’t be reunited! Cursed to haunt the green hill forever!” We all stared intently at the fire. My little brother piped up, “H-how do you know she’s real?” “You can hear her, you know she’s there when you hear-“ “My love where are you!?” A ghastly lady rose from the shadows, everyone screamed and ran away.
