Two gangly, insect-like creatures curiously peered down into the long-abandoned well. Even though they were far, he could see their flaking powdery white shell revealing the dark skin beneath.
Startling him, the creatures turned towards each other. He scrambled to pick up the pieces of cloth he had torn from his shirt and balled up and jammed them into his ears. He strained as he stuffed them with such force, scrunching his nose and shaking. What followed was a series of unintelligible ringing sounds which were simultaneously beautiful and excruciating.
When he had had time to think, he almost craved the addictive sound, even though he had writhed from the torture of it just hours before. His eyes opened and he managed to look up at the creatures, squinting through the pain. He could neither understand what they were saying nor any emotion, but knew they were communicating. He puzzled and pulled out any information in his brain that could lead to an explanation of what was happening. He thought of his time in school, studying enormous insects that had existed in the age of reptiles and dinosaurs, but had long since been extinct.
The sound rung and the man’s will broke. he shook and grimaced as he fought to stay awake, but blood leaked from his ears and soaked into the cloth pieces and onto his skin. The blood traced along the grooves in his palm down to his wrists and forearms in only moments. The strained expression fell from his face as he passed out. He fell fast to the ground, hands falling from his ears and smacking into the stone.
It felt immediate as he struck the ground that he was transported back to the events of the previous day. He had woken up abruptly, feeling startled but unsure of why until he finally opened his eyes fully. His vision was blurred at first with shades of orange and yellow and powder blue. As his eyes focused, he saw the sun rising over the horizon of a wheat field. He let himself be content as he first thought he was in a dream. The breeze and the warmth held him and he felt at peace until that breeze picked up into a whipping wind.
Several translucent pods appeared silently, the only sound being the wind whooshing around him. The pods disappeared to reveal revolting creatures with hard outer shells, dark skin barely showing through the cracks beneath, and several large antennae.
As they appeared one by one, he fell backwards to the ground and kicked his feet to get further from the center of the wheat field toward the treeline. He ducked his head and stayed flat as possible to try and hide from the horrifying creatures. His breath was loud and panicked, but hidden by the still-whooshing winds.
Crystal Smith a 42 year old woman from hot springs North Carolina was found brutally murdered and dumped into a ditch line this morning. She had 52 broken bones along with 87 stab wounds. Autopsy has revealed arsenic poison was found in her lungs and her blood. If you have any information you are urged to contact the police immediately! There are no suspects at this time.
Inside of the church lays the dead body of the pope in the city of Gardon. It was a mess. There was broken glass everywhere, blood stains on the walls that looked fresh, and there were foot prints out the big brown double doors. Detective Bartley suspected that someone came in and killed the pope with a dagger, because it was hidden under the long carpet underneath the benches. “GET OUT NOW”! Someone said in a demonic voice. Detective Bartley didn’t wait a moment longer. He sprinted out of the church slippped down the the stairs and ran into the church’s warehouse not to far away. But there was one problem. It was dark, and he heard that voice once more. “I TOLD YOU TO LEAVE” The warehouse filled with toxic Posion and it filled his lungs fast.
“What happened here?” said the detective walking up to the scene of the crime, the police chief replied with a tired sigh “It looks like the male victim had his ribs removed, broken off one by one while he was already dead. We found a bottle in the sink. It was poison. His lungs were crushed as well as his spine snapped. Also, we found this craved into his back.” The corpse lying on its side then walked around to the other side to see a symbol of a satanic star torn into the flesh of its back. “Oh my…” she smirked stepping back a few steps as the detective covered her face to hide a smile. Just below the satanic star, there were words cut across the corpse's back that said “Alius angelus de caelo cecidit” which translates from Latin to English “Another angel fell from heaven”. The Chief noticed her smiling as she was covering her face. He asked her “Why are you smiling? Who are you really?”. Her jacket started to move and tighten as the seems began to rip, her shoes bursted open to reveal hooves and her jacket fell apart to the ground as large wings unfolded and spread across the crime scene with blue and red lights bursting into the dark night sky flashing onto every surface at the crime scene and every cops face with each flash revealed more and more the horror on thier faces. “I am… The light bringer and I have a message from God.” silence fell. “Here comes the fall of man for it is now the rise of woman.”
Tape surrounded all four corners of the court yard and for the first time, I got to experience what it’s like to be restricted in the Throne Room. I kept behind the pillar so I wasn’t spotted. Broken bones laid on the floor surrounded by evidence tape. How cruel does a human have to be to shatter the bones of their own royal subject? Leaving the bones recklessly scattered on the floor, but leaving the head whole. A personal attack on my uncle. “We found a part of his lung,” one of the knights reported. They had bagged it up. “It’s all black.” The detective looked at the lung piece in the bag and sighed. “Poisen.” He shakes his head and hands it off to the person who collects the evidence. I glitch at his observation. I hope he died from that first then to be severed into many pieces; suffering the whole time.
"Give me an analysis of the crime scene," said Captain Wulph. His coffee remained untouched on his desk, which was unusual. Usually, he had three cups by the time he walked into the office, and another once he sat down. But, given the circumstances of the death in this new case file, nobody would have an appetite for weeks. Someone was targeting the Fae - even just finding one was not an easy task - a serial killer was on the loose, and had Fae wings on the menu.
"This is the third Fae we've found in just two weeks," said Detective Vamp. "Like the others, her wings had been...uh, chewed off."
"Jesus," said the Captain. "Any sign of poison?"
"Yes," said Vamp. He showed his superior a photo of the victim's mouth at the crime scene. While her head had been underwater, the skin around her mouth was stained with a green substance. "It's the same substance as the other two victims. Likely, the liquid will be found in her lungs, almost like she inhaled it."
"We need constant surveillance in and around all night clubs in the area," said Wulph. "Whoever this maniac is, he's going to strike again. His hunger won't let him idle."
"Already on it, sir. Detectives have been scattered across the Bay, two to each club. I'll be stationed at the Broken Arrow with Detective Hunter."
The Captain nodded. "Good work. I'll get the Mayor on the phone and have him warn all the Fae in the area to not travel alone and carry protection. Let's catch this bastard."

The victim was in her early twenties. She died from asphyxiation because of her broken lungs. She had been found under a bridge next to the police station.
It was clearly a mockery of the police. Saying that they will keep killing innocent people and there is nothing they can do about it.
Well, it’s a good thing that I’m not the police.
