Repost
I remember the night that our love tore asunder. It was pouring rain, with bright lightning and booming thunder. Tears streamed down my cheeks as you explained how you lied. Later that night, I laid on my bed and just cried. My heart was broken and swamped with grief. You were stolen like gold in the hands of a thief. The day that I left, I never dreamed I’d see you again. Alas, I thought that our romance had met its bitter end. Years passed, I moved on, until one fateful night. We met once again, to my utmost delight! You left that woman in order to be free. You said truly, in your heart, you just wanted me. That very same night you swore to be true. If only, somehow, I would marry you. I accepted the offer and then we kissed. I made sure you knew how much you were missed. I’m filled with content, so I’ll speak now and say. I’ll love you with all my heart until my dying day.

Troll Stories
There once was a troll who lived in the forest. He had two troll children and a wife named Doris. One autumn night, he tucked the trollets into bed.
“Tell us a story,” the little one said.
He sighed, “It’s getting late, it’s time for goodnights.”
But they begged and they pleaded and he gave in, “Alright.”
“This is the story of Gerbis, the knight. He was a tough troll who put up a fight. He guarded a castle, tall and true. Then, one day, a dragon came out of the blue. He fought valiantly, with his sword and shield. No matter the cost, he would not yield. The dragon roared viciously, and his bones rattled. He knew then that he was losing this battle. The dragon opened its jaws and damned the knight to its belly. The troll’s body like a donut and his blood like jelly.”
“The dragon ate him up and Gerbis was no more?”
It was then that he noticed the looks of horror.
“Uh…well…you see…Gerbis had magical armor of steel. Little did the dragon know, he’d be its last meal. Gerbis lived still in the dragon’s belly, his sword in hand. What he did next was forever famous over the land. He took his sword and sliced the dragon from within. He emerged from its insides through its scaly skin.”
The trollets breathed heavy sighs of relief. After all, happy endings were a vital motif.
“Wow,” they exclaimed, “Gerbis is the best!”
The troll smiled, glad he added the rest.
First Day on the Job
Where to start how should I begin? “Hello there my name is Ben.” He said with a grin from ear to ear. The crowd gathered round so they could hear. “Tell us a tale!” was shouted aloud. Ben puffed his chest and stood proud. “I hail from a space far away, and come before you this very day.” The words which came next were not what he planned, he spoke of great peril which was due for this land. “I am a prophet and your future I see, The fate of this planet is doomed to be.” He was shocked at the message that he just read. About how these people will soon be dead. For Ben was unaware That their destiny he also did share. He was an unfortunate harbinger sent from a far off place. To alert these people of their disgrace. He thought to himself, “wow, that sucks I hope they have somewhere else to go.” But in his heart he knew the answer was no. He told them that this was their final night. Then he realized he only booked a one-way flight. It took a minute for him to comprehend that his life too will soon come to an end. In an instant Ben fell down on a knee He prayed that his boss would hear his plea. “Hello God,” he said Bowing his head “Please don’t giggle, But do you have some room to wiggle? Your judgment I did pass And now I feel like an ass. Can you help me just once? For I am such a dunce! I cannot lie. I prefer not to die. I don’t mean to sound like a jerk But it’s my first day at work!”
Prompt 10
The merchant traveled along the winding road. It was upon a horse and cart with which he rode. To town he was headed, to sell his odds and ends. A new concoction of teas he now possessed; a new variety of fusions, mixes, and blends. It was in the Town of Cottonwood, that the merchant sought to see. Confident he was, in his new collections of tea. “They shall come from near and far,” The merchant chuckled, his lips rolling over his cigar. “These blends are unlike all they would have come across!” He thanked his mentor quietly, for supplying him such a seasoned trail-boss. From their adventures came, the merchants newest creations. For they would create whole new sensations.

Passion To Pain
I always love tending to my garden, the sensation of the sun on my back as I dig in the dirt. Except lately, I’ve felt my knees start to harden, and the arthritis has caused my hands to hurt.
No one tells you this about old age, but the things you once loved are hard to gauge. And although you haven’t even begun the day it feels like you’ve been shoved.
My garden was once vibrant and lively, the fruits and veggies were plentiful. But now it’s been taken over by weeds and poison ivy and all I can do is watch like a sentinel.
Engulfed
The edge of the sea lapped at Maya’s feet. The wind’s lullaby offered her a break from the heat. Her toes gripped at the sand eagerly in anticipation. On any other day, she would feel sorrow in her current situation.
Today, she awaited the arrival of her husband’s boat after six long months of lobster fishing. Day after day she spent pacing the shore, throwing pebbles into the sea wishing, wishing that the silhouette of Henry’s boat would erupt from the horizon line. The clouds had hindered her view at first, but now she could see it just fine.
She lifted up one hand and waved it in greeting. The other clutched her chest in an attempt to slow its ferocious beating.
Closer and closer his boat floated towards the shore. She had never been so excited to see her husband before. This is the longest they had ever spent apart. The time spent away from a lover is not for the faint of heart.
His boat was now only 50 yards away. Which human silhouette on board was her husbands, it was still hard to say.
She squinted her eyes against the blaring sun in an attempt to pick out her lover. As the boat’s bow came further into view, that’s when she discovered.
Where there should have been 8 men, there stood 7 instead. Her husband was not with them, Henry was dead.
Blue
The color of gemstones and bluebirds and skies the color of me and both my parents’ eyes
A color found in the depth of oceans so deep and the color of sadness and calmness and sleep
Blueberries and sapphires, morpho butterflies the color of bluejays that fly through the skies
The color of that shirt I wore some time ago the hue of the nightlight that once showed its glow
And the color of an almost-forgotten time a time when that color was a favorite of mine
Soup
She woke to the sweet smell of soup So she ran to the kitchen to snoop Her stomach was grumbling So she ran without stumbling To snag a bowl of such fragrant broth
But alas, time had run out And her face wore an unusual pout For she missed her one chance And was put in a trance By the absence of steamy delight
