Beneath the blackened silver sky,
A blanket of quiet twilight lies,
Cold winds through whispering branches fly,
And halt my step with startled cries.
Listening closely, silent, still,
As whispers weave, their voices fill,
The air with echoes of my sins,
With bitter laughter, truth begins.
Branches stretch, like skeletal hands,
Desperate fingers, through dark lands,

In the shadows of the ancient woods,
Where moonbeams dance with whispered hoods,
There roams a creature, wild and free,
A guardian of mystery.
With eyes like stars, and fur of night,
It wanders 'neath the silver light,
And in its heart, a melody,

Waiting alone until its life comes to an end,
“What a tragic death, my friend” I hear,
As I turn around I’m struck with fear,
For yet another monster has appeared.
It must have been trying to heal ...
Everything surrounding me seems so cozy..
The wind that’s blowing,
I swear it chose me,
The whispers from it I hear,
Gives me familiarity and cheer.
Backpack on my back, sneakers soggy,
Cellphone reception nonexistent,
Friends and family in a distance.
This is my breakaway,
No one can call me..
living off the land,
I don’t need a helping hand.
The persistence I have to be a better me,
