In radiant skies, the sunshine gleams,
A tapestry woven with golden beams.
It whispers tales of a world aglow,
Where shadows fade, and dreams can grow.
With every dawn, a new chance to dance,
In the sun's embrace, we find romance.
It paints the day with hues divine,
A masterpiece of warmth and shine.
Oh, sunshine, you're a gentle friend,
On whom we can always depend.
Your light guides us through...
“When I was younger, there was frozen rain.
We called it snow- it was quite magical.
It would coat the ground, turning the world white.
It was, for me, the mark of the winter.”
“We only have rain now. Why not the snow?”
“The sunshine doesn’t allow for the snow.
It’s become too warm, since I was a kid.
I think you would like the snow. I miss it.”...
Oh, Winter, how you left me in my blues.
You would think it was June the way you gloom.
Withered flowers now prepare for their bloom,
And I await for slight warmth coming soon.
Oh, Spring, the defrosting you know so well,
Has come to save me from this freezing hell.
Apricity came to melt off my shell,
Readying a blush for my smile to dwell....
(Not the prompt)
I recently found a poem that I wrote when I was eleven. I wanted to share it on here because there was something about it that reminded me of you guys💜
It’s called “I Do Too” and I wrote it in the summer at age eleven!
Here goes!
It’s okay
To cry in public
I do too
It’s okay
To wish for gold
I do too
It’s okay
To feel like a devil in a group of angels
I have felt it all
I...
I awake each morning to the sun’s gleam
It's curious rays seep through our curtains
Greeting our crumpled sheets and snoozed alarm
Redecorating the room with warm rays
But no matter how hard the sun persists
It will never outshine your resting face
That escapes from the fluff of your pillow
And stays with me until the stars wake up...
Sugary like a freshly made parfait.
Beneath that so devilish horizon.
Where plenty of the nomads longed to be.
How hallowed it be of you to be here.
And me? Merely pushed here by circumstance.
Yet I come off fermented like a gourd,
full of my own seeds of disdain while here.
Longing to have your fated upbringing...
Rays and rays of the Sun’s hot and rich gaze
Beating down on the sands in thick, hot bands
The air’s a haze, the Sun’s heat is ablaze
It isn't called sunshine in the desert lands
People fall in defeat to the harsh heat
Boiling and burning, scalding and scorching
The thought of water is a pure deceit
The Desert Death is always approaching...
Close-at-hand star bringing life-granting light.
Warm rays soaked up by the Earth – growing plants.
Mysterious sights to deep sea creatures.
Wondrous phenomenon: total eclipse.
Both helpful and harmful; cancer bringer.
Protection a must on hot summer days.
Ceaselessly marking time’s gradual march.
Turning seasons: forever constant friend....
Angelic mastery lives in each beam
A rays delayed reach touches your heart strings
It is here you find sensual pure warmth
Integrity in a most natural form
Wonderous filled ball of firey mass
Shine some light on the dark night of each soul
Sensitivity. It is marvelous.
We are here to ignite truth. We are One....
Yellow brightly seen from the darkened sky
Hurting our hidden eyes from the lite why
Drying out our rain dampened hair and skin
Looking at the clouds that cover within
Some bodies like to tan and get sunburn
Others also just swim and lounge and turn
Plants and animals love the daily sun
Children play sports while they also have fun...
