Don’t look at me with those sad puppy dog eyes The ones that got everything they wanted with a simple word Pouring from your lips Oh how I will miss those sweet tender kisses The kind that bled me dry from the inside When you twisted my words into little white lies Oh how I surmised it to be true Those puppy dog eyes were damned if I do And so we stepped into the dawn the very next day Forever changed with the seasons that came
We weren’t sure if we were Ready,
Because we definitely weren’t Prepared,
But the wind was finally held Steady,
And who really ever is aware?
Aware of when it is time, To step away from what you’ve Known,
A time to stop cowering, and Reach for the throne,
The very top, Far from the bottom,
No way to stop, Fear long forgotten,
We weren’t prepared, but Who ever is? It’s a step to greatness, not A question,
Or, rather, fear is never quite Lost, But it can be tamed,
And so we step into the dawn, Forever changed,
For we have given fear a new Name,
It is called “courage,”
But it is only so if one steps Into the dawn or darkness,
Despte fear, Despite the voice,
The voice that keeps you Locked away from making The right choice,
We have stepped into the Dawn, To be forever changed,
And we will stay changed, Remain this way,
And ever, And another day,
If we have any say.
The lited door creaked as it opened, there was faces all staring a plenty.
The door closed firmly behind her, there appeared a face, shocked and surprised.
‘You gave me a fright’
Why oh why, I just stepped in the door?
Her gaze turned to his eyes, honey brown speckled with dots of yellow.
She knew she had seen them before, but where?
She did not know, she knew she was home - familiar just like they had met once before.
She took his hand and they went on an adventure, a mission.
She kept gazing into those eyes, something told her they were meant to be, had we met before?
Those caramel eyes, his lips aperture ready to kiss.
Their lips closed in, their eyes locked on each other, they connected and sealed it with a kiss.
That was when she realised, they had met before. In the carefree days, they were lost then they met.
They talked for hours about recollections and memories, they held hands and spoke into the night.
As the kiss came to an end, they realised it was now dawn, they must go back to their lives.
They both knew, that it was time, time to change not just for themselves but for each other.
And so, they stepped into the dawn, forever changed…
The moon was content, To be amongst the stars. Comet trails like scars, Nothing to lament.
Against the canvas of night, A background black as ink. Onto horizon she did sink, Her midnight dreams taking flight.
Dawn a ways away, Stars twinkling brightly. Beauty oh so slightly, In this darkness she did stay.
Night trying to be rearranged, Like a deer caring for her fawn. And so we stepped into a dawn, Forever changed.

The void that you filled in each of our lives, Now forever empty
The words that you’d say and things you would write, forever lay unchanged,
All of us here pray for the family and friends, wish you knew that you were plenty,
Maybe if we’d just spoken up or said these things before you left, things could’ve been different
But we didn’t and now your gone and each feels like they’re to blame,
We wish that we could be speaking to you when we type out your name,
Because right now every time I scroll and see that someone wrote it,
I know what the story is all about before I’ve even read it,
I hope at least your suffering ended still your life feels so shortchanged,
That void we carried into the dawn where we stand forever changed

We say we sleep at night But really we’re always awake Our minds churning With the dreams we make
We run from the coming dawn And take comfort in stars For they are only small lights Compared to the rising sun
But we can’t ever hide From a inevitable force For nature is nurturing Merciless and corse
We run from the dawn Hind from the light For we’re not adjusted To this new coming blight
And when the dawn comes It blinds quickly our sight For we can no longer see Only at night
So for evermore We can no longer go back To our ways of the night And the light we lacked
So we emerge into dawn Forever changed Never going back To the night that we reined
i met you at dusk it was the third wednesday of may and your friends and my friends and you and me were drinking sodas instead of beer because we were wiser than our classmates who thought that speaking to the cops in a drunken state of mind was the way to live life anyways you and me fought for a cream soda which i later discovered you prefer over root beer we finally settled to split it until you accused me of backwashing and took the whole bottle for yourself neither of us noticed how the rest of the friend group was silently watching as we began to fall in love we all drove home to kai’s house arriving one minute after curfew and threw blankets and pillows onto the grassy backyard they all fell asleep but you and i stayed awake whispering mischievously at six twenty seven we got up tip toed past our snoring friends and ran to the seven eleven for coffee cups in hand we stepped into the dawn forever changed
What do we do, love? We’re not young anymore.
A little tenderfooted, Perhaps, But not naive.
Some days I still recall The ways we slid through Time like it was a rain puddle,
Silvered mirror casting reflections Everywhere I look.
We grew together Like two sapling trunks embracing
When I open your paper tongue, And speak your words,
I cry.
Should we abandon loss? Or bid the mirror shards remain?
I wait for your signal, love, To step into the dawn, Forever changed.
