Writings

Sacrifice

Get up in the morning

Work hard all day

Help whenever asked

Help even when not

Smile brightly

Be perfect

Finish and go home

Repeat forever

Even when sad

No matter the treatment

Don’t complain

Don’t protest

Don’t get upset

And don’t ask for help

You can’t be selfish

Never be selfish

Make sacrifices

Help others

That’s your task...

Letting Go

Giving up things

That we hold so dear

Is a nuisance to know it means

Facing our fear

Letting go of

All these worldly possessions

Leads to recognizing our own

Deep obsessions

Yet there is a Man

Who gave everything for me

He layed it all down

To wash my soul clean

God incarnate,

My Savior and King,

Gave up His life

So these lungs could sing

And if the King of all Kings

Chose to lay it all down,...

I Choose You

Letting go of myself as I hold onto you

My reasons may not be yours but they are you

I do not want to leave but I must let you stay

Please forgive me for taking the choice away

My dream is for you to live and for me to rest...

Sacrifices

Coming and going

Striving to reach the end

Giving up your wants to satisfy your needs

Looking out for others

You forget about yourself

You smile as you come

And you smile as you go

The sacrifice you made

Brought more joy than pain in your life

It’s time to lay it all down

The greatest gift of all

A sacrifice...

the great sacrifice

I’m writing this poem in undercase to see which style I like more!

it’s necessary to make sacrifices,

but why must you leave me here

regretting?

it may be vital to say “goodbye,”

but why did you do it so dramatically?

why did you have to

ascend?

it’s too much to grieve,

and the knife now can’t be undone

unless i am the one putting it in.

now i shall see you again....

Stardust

i gave up my darkness,

between the stars.

the cold starkness,

as black as tar.

So i find the light,

between your fingers.

the warm rays,

as bright as days.

...

i love you Baby

...

It could've been you

The wooden bridge is unsteady, a storm approaching

I look left, the forest looks back at me

I hear the trees rustle, inviting me

into the fog, the uncertainty, the unknown

A warm breeze caresses my cheek to my right,

and there you stand

With your green needy eyes, your gaze burning me

Comfort and familiarity painted on your face

Decision weighs on my chest, heavy

My heart aches for what coul...

You Win

My sanity.

My peace of mind.

My dignity.

Everything that was left of me.

Gone.

You took it all.

You win.

So please, never bother me again....

Fly, fly, fly away

The heart, the body, the mind, the soul —

what part of me is left to hold?

I cry, I scream, I plead,

but all that answers me is pain, echoing back what I gave away so freely.

Fly, fly, fly away —

to someone I once was,

someone who lived inside the happiest of my dreams.

Drop it all —

drop the weight, the facade, the lies that wrapped themselves around me like a second skin.

I have given everything...

For You

Red like communion wine

I pour myself out to you

Over and over

I’ll drop to my knees

Beg for your forgiveness

Thank you for your resigned acknowledgement

And

Pray that you are still listening

_Are you listening?_

Take me to the gate

Tell me which side I’ll be going to

But say it to my face

If you will grant me one last mercy

Leaving me in the void in-between

It’s the cruelest purgatory

But it’...
