Are you on edge today, what I mean is did you wake up feeling like yourself? Did you look in the mirror and have questions regarding all your insecurities, fears and worries. Did these emotions follow you as you left your house, ringing like an alarm in your ear untill you were on a platform waiting for your train. Did the noise get louder as you felt the sound of the train on the opposite side wisk past. Did the intensity of the noise become even louder, as you recollected every emotional burden you carried. After, you finally glance at your oncoming train, you start to think about whether you were at the edge of the platform or at the edge of your emotions.
I was walking down the street to my local coffee shop. When I looked up and, notice a man climbing a sky scraper, I first thought the building is a little dusty today. Then realized he has no equipment. That is a very unprofessional window cleaner. As I kept my eyes on him I noticed him climbing the building like Spiderman. One hand after another, like he had gule on his fingers. Moving so gracefully up the building with the expression of it is beautiful today. Was the elevator broken? Had he lost the diamond ring on the ledge and taken matters into his own hands? It could be the drugs all the kids are on today. Whatever it is made me realize I am as uncoordinated as an infant beginning to walk. The last time I walked up a building was on a flight of stairs and stumbled on the first step. My ankle had been swollen for a decade. Forget the helicopters when someone decides to jump to there death. He would be amazed by the sheer's determination of someone putting his own life on the line to stop them from jumping. His hand stuck to the building every grasp, and he moved like a spider crawling up the building. The only thing he is missing is a safety net when he falls to his death. His face focused with confidence and the muscles in his forearms showed his strength. I just didn't understand why he was dressed like a student late for class. I was pretty sure he was missing a lecture from his college professor. He climbed the building fast. He was almost very robotic. Just afraid of the eagle attacking him, the closer he got to the nest as he scaled the building. It seems dangerous. Why would anyone climb a building? Then I looked down and saw his friend recording him and cheering him on. It dawned on me that he was going to earn so much respect and acknowledgment from beautiful women when he reached the top. Until twenty cop cars showed up ready to arrest him.
Is he about to fall? Or is that an angle?? Wait, how much coffee did I drink today? Why am I just standing here doing nothing? I should probably call 911. No maybe not. Maybe they’ll think I’m crazy if I’m imagining it. Or they might say, “bruh, he’s a worker and he’s just checking the windows.” Hehe oops, my bad. Plus I’m scared of cops. I think ima just take a picture of the dude. He looks kinda Asian from here. Idk let me just call my mama. Cause I know I can count on her like one two three. 😅 I’m not funny right? Anyways. “Mamamama, hello this is your beautiful daughter 😁. No mama I’m not eating McDonalds again. 🙄 Oh wait mama, I have to go. sorry, call you later.” I confirm it’s real !! The dude just fell of that big tall building. And I’m not panicked because I just discovered what’s happening here. They are doing an experiment and he’s fine. Apparently he is Asian and he landed on hay. Yea, típical movie thing haha 😆. Bruh, I’m late for work.( starts running)
I was walking down town today I saw it out of the corner an eye Was this seriously a man climbing over the edge? It was Why was he even up there? Only he knows Did he even know why? He cannot say Does he have demons? Yes he does And a wife? Yes her names is destiny And he loves her dearly. A family? He had a dog once but he died Kids I mean? None living What happened to him Not to him In his
“What if we meet Spiderman?”
”It be cool i guess.”
-Mattheo stretches to look up at the sky-
”OH MY GOSH ITS SPIDERMAN!”
”WHAT- uh no its a guy. Did you fall?”
”Nope... But I think I pulled a muscle.”
”Dude get up.”
”Ok ok.”
-the guy falls-
”BLOODY HELL!”
”HES GONNA DIE!”
...
”SPIDERMANNNNNN YAYYYYYY 👏”
”No way...”
While walking through the park, she thought about how beautiful the scenery was. She grabbed her phone and opened the camera app, angled it up—and that’s when she saw him. There was a teenage boy hanging off of a tall building. She sighed. She knew exactly where this was going. People commit suicide from that same building almost every week. She had already gave up on saving them. She took a picture of the boy before he would fall to his death, then continued to capture the breathtaking scenery. Moments later, she could hear a loud thud hit the ground. Yet no one spared a glance. She walked over to the building, seeing his lifeless body in an abnormal position because of his fractured bones. She adjusted his bloodied, crushed face. She snapped another picture, making sure to get the puddle of red liquid leaking out around him.
Beautiful.
I sigh as I close the door behind me, slightly hoping that it wouldn’t click shut. But it does. Why wouldn’t it? After all, I closed it. I already hate today.
I walk down the street, staring at nothing in particular when I see a man peering from around the corner, looking as if he was scaling the wall like a gecko. My mind goes blank, I’m too tired to deal with this. All I can think of is one word: what.
He looks at me and smiles, and I feel shivers go down my spine. “Hello!” He calls out, waving towards me with an inviting smile. “Could you please help me get down?” What.
No, no, no, no, no, and no again. I am not dealing with this today. I turn on my heal and quickly unlock the door, following it as it swings open and closing it behind me. What the fuck is my life?
I’m standing in a field A field that’s green As far as the eyes can see Clear blue sky Hugging the sun, Is this what it means to be free?
If to be free Means through good and bad times And have the ability to write rhymes And to scream into the sky Are free for your lifetime You belong to the free
If this what it means to be free, Then you are free And if you belong to the free All the essences of life The peaks and valleys Births and grand finales They belong to you and me
Cats hissed satire at Sam and Karl as they passed the alley. There were hundreds of them hiding behind trash bins, hanging off power lines, snarling from within withered flowerbeds. The sneaky ones scaled the crumbling roofs of the low buildings to keep a close watch.
Sam sneezed once, twice, thrice. He was, unfortunately, very allergic to felines. Why he was sent to literal Cat-Central, he would likely never know. He hugged his beloved camera against his chest—perhaps the high-tech piece of equipment was scaring the wretched cats into violence.
“Can we leave now?” Sam asked fretfully. “I do not, not, NOT like this place. Your stupid parkour stunt cannot possibly be worth this treacherous journey.”
Karl breathed a breath with the kind of extravagance only he could master. “Relax, man. My parkour skills are totally epic. The Director has given us this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, so we NEED to take it. I will have to thank him endlessly for this—remind me to fill his house with Canadian maple syrup later.”
“Ummm…why does the syrup have to be Canadian?”
“Dude…” Karl trailed off. “We’re here. Setup your camera. Be snappy!”
They stopped at the foot of the tallest building in the little town. It was white, or tried to be, because it couldn’t have been cleaned in less than two centuries. It was wide and cylindrical—not very useful for climbing.
Sam fumbled with his camera. He knew that precision would be key this time around. Karl didn’t understand the first thing about parkour, so Sam would need the best angle possible to make the recording count.
“I don’t get it,” Sam said. “Do you know what you’re doing. Have you prepared… at all?”
“This has been a lifelong dream of mine, Sam. I won’t screw this up because I never screw up. Plus, teamwork makes the dream work, amiright?”
“That didn’t answer my-…” Sam sighed, returning his attention to positioning his camera and desperately ignoring the hissing and spitting at his heels.
Karl clapped his hands together twice. “Alrighty, let’s get this show on the road. I will climb up there, then you start recording and I’ll pull some sick tricks. Sound good?”
NO. “Yes… that sounds just dandy.”
Watching Karl attempt the climb up the building’s slick walls was like revisiting the same nightmare every night. He scrambled up a few feet, tumbled down, hopped up, and repeated. Eventually, he managed to pull himself up the wall and roll onto the roof, undeniably more banged up than before.
Karl stood, wobbled, brushed himself off. “Oi, world! Am I a parkour master yet?!”
Once, I was on an evening stroll. The wind was brisk but gentle, and the smell of spring was in the air. The sun was about to touch the horizon so I figured I’d walk down a familiar beach pathway to catch a glimpse of the sun setting. It was rather clear skies, only a few blotches of pillowy clouds, I was certain that they were to show some beautiful colors. With my headphones on, as-well as my vans, I headed toward the ocean with a coconut water in one hand. I make my way, away from the buildings, where I’m greeted by a sandy path and green luscious plants. The clouds, now pink, the sky now orange, the rhythm of my feet, move with the chorus. Suddenly, I have a feeling to look up, as I had been looking at the path in front of me. I see a humming bird, hovering along with me. I cant help but stop, as I notice it’s pace, and as my momentum dies, it flys in front of my face. My breathing had stopped, I removed my head phones from one ear, the vibration of its wings, matched that song that I hear. For a moment time stopped, as he hovered in place, with peachy colors behind him, and stars glimmering from space. The waves of the ocean even seemed to slow down, I didn’t notice the moon was full, but I’m completely aware of it now. As fast as I noticed, the little thing zipped away. Leaving me with a sense of wonder, And love for today.
