Writings
The rain hides away your tears While the Snow embraces it
The sorrowful sadness is washed away by the rain In small droplets, the tears cling to your chin, But the rain will not allow this disobedience
That is how most people are, They see your tears But they quickly wipe it away And they offer you short words of comfort ‘Things will get better.’ ‘Don’t worry’ ‘look at the bright side…’ And soon, the words of comfort cause the tears to fall
They offer you a hand out But soon they quickly sigh, as your tears soak their shoulders They don’t want to deal with the ‘stress Of dealing with your sadness’
But once the rain ends, And once they leave The ocean of tears build up within your eyes
But the dearest Snow It freezes your tears And it embraces your pain It gives you a warm hug The hug is cold in touch but the emotions are warm in love The sincerity in the hug melts your heart And the Snow softly whispers
‘Things won’t get better…but I’ll be here. Two is always better than one. So, rely on me, whenever you can. I can’t carry your burden but I’ll embrace all your pain, your mistakes and your worries. So, just do the same to me and don’t give up.’
The Snow doesn’t offer a hand out , it instead offers a hand up.
Softness is to anger what rain brings to snow All I’m left as is ice Hard, cold ice You made me melt I was a snowflake Falling For you Then you showed nothing but indifference I tried And tried And tried But no matter how hard It was never enough So I stopped I stopped trying Caring about you I stopped loving you in the end I was cold as ice I was never going to fall for you again
Dedicated to Sarah For never caring about me in the first place Now I’m cold as ice But I can still be melted
Generally speaking this cup feels half full But on some days it can seem real empty Pushing even when instincts screams pull Anxious thoughts in my mind are plenty
My loyalty to optimism becomes divided
Forgetting I came to disrupt the status quo
It is at this point that my soul is reminded
Softness is to anger what rain brings to snow
Dear friend you cannot fight fire with fire Take a pause and breath before you react They go deep down low we go up higher To not compromise oneself is true impact
The heat of the day Cools as the night sky dims The chill of the evening Deepens as the stars swim
The depth of the darkness Lessens as the sky brightens The twinkling stars shimmer Until the rays lighten
The dark black edges Of the sky turns deep blue The orange and yellow brightness Changes the sky’s hue
The softness changes the anger Of the depth of the night Like rain melts the snow The sky is now bright
The new day offers New meaningful moments The soft rays of the sun Bring bright memories closer
Ponder yourself As the new day turns Lay the notes on the shelf The rain cleanses yurns Tessa🦋
Softness is to anger What rain brings to snow An empathetic gesture That makes a friendship grow
Anger is to heartbreak What glass is to a frame A barrier to prying hands But insight all the same
Heartbreak is to courage What burns are to deep wounds A healer and a punishment Maturity in bloom
The coffee grounds spilled into the brew. The dishes were not washed in time. Those are the things that matter to you. (Not that I made it home safe.)
I forgot to add cinnamon to the pie. I changed the garbage, but not in time. I went hungry while you got high. (Did I mention I got another “A”?)
But I stumbled again, and fear for you to know. Please remember that, Softness is to anger what rain brings to snow. So melt my heart with loving words of reproach.
I know this is something you cannot do. But let me have this moment to hope, That you could show kindness and love, Not leave me hanging from a word-noosed rope.
