The rain hides away your tears
While the Snow embraces it
The sorrowful sadness is washed away by the rain
In small droplets, the tears cling to your chin,
But the rain will not allow this disobedience
That is how most people are,
They see your tears
But they quickly wipe it away
And they offer you short words of comfort
‘Things will get better.’ ‘Don’t worry’ ‘look at the bright side…’
And so...
Softness is to anger what rain brings to snow
All I’m left as is ice
Hard, cold ice
You made me melt
I was a snowflake
Falling
For you
Then you showed nothing but indifference
I tried
And tried

What rain brings to snow
An empathetic gesture
That makes a friendship grow
Anger is to heartbreak
What glass is to a frame
A barrier to prying hands
But insight all the same
Heartbreak is to courage
What burns are to deep wounds
A healer and a punishment
Maturity in bloom...
The coffee grounds spilled into the brew.
The dishes were not washed in time.
Those are the things that matter to you.
(Not that I made it home safe.)
I forgot to add cinnamon to the pie.
I changed the garbage, but not in time.
I went hungry while you got high.
(Did I mention I got another “A”?)
But I stumbled again, and fear for you to know.
Please remember that,
Softness is to anger what rain...
