The sun is dying.
It lies sunken and dull at the horizon, in a pool of blood. Charred clouds encircle its fallen form, weaving it a dark, spangled shroud. I cry out, forcing myself to press forward into the fire, despite the throbbing pain in my left leg. Dear God, how it hurts. The air is hot and thick as mud. It burns bright in my lungs, though the night grows dimmer and dimmer with each passing moment. Star-stitched bandages appear in a desperate, last-ditch attempt at daylight—it is worthless. Darkness is encroaching, like a funeral march across the sky, and there is nothing any of us can do about it.
The sun gives one last, fickle flicker, like a weak wax candle, then finally melts beneath the stirring waves. I shudder, eyes stinging with hot tears.
This is my final glory.
The sky is an ever changing canvas Each brush of a cloud crafted by the strokes of the universe
Something this beautiful Could never be man made It is a natural phenomenon
A marvel that we get to witness In process at any moment Never finished, an everlasting painting
——— (Here is a bonus stanza that I didn’t feel like fit with the others:
A fox chasing the ball of light Streaking his auburn fur Across the heavens above)
The sun kisses the horizon Whispering its last goodbyes Slowly slipping away Bringing all warmth with it
Lighting up with its brilliant colors Clouds drifting in and out Casting its final warm glow it sunk away Allowing for the moon to rise
A shimmering light cast upon land a greeting from the moon Stars now sparkling above The moon hugging the clouds floating above Signaling the end of the day

warmth, evoking the sensation of freshly baked cakes being broken in half by hand. As the gentle heat releases, it's like the sweet aroma of warm bread wafting through the air, inviting you to share the tender moment with someone else, as you hand them the other half, savoring the warmth and scent together
"I want to stay here forever," I said. Rimcrest is the best viewpoint for a perfect sunset, especially in the winter. After endless days of rain, the clouds finally separate and the sun reveals magnificence in front of my eyes. As the tiny sun slowly sank, I took pictures of the scenery I would never forget. Along the horizon, bright clouds floated in the breathtaking atmosphere. Above, the shiny clouds dotted the sky, adding to the beauty of this world.
We must protect our planet. People should appreciate the precious gift that Mother Nature gives us. Why would we destroy it?
Its warm and bright, emotional yet happy. A sunset looks like happiness. Calmness. Its like biting into fresh fruit and laying in freshly cut grass. Its warm and comforting, strong yet soft. The end of the day, the start of the night. A blend of day and night, when its calm and quiet. No one sleeping yet, but no one playing or working anymore. Calmness. Happiness.
Slipping behind the green mountain peaks An ever changing display A sight to be treasured, a memory to keep Slowly fading away
Desert skies put on a dazzling finale The cloudless sky is ablaze Then the very last delicate sliver of sunshine Gathers its golden rays
It shuts its eyes and nods to sleep The moon comes out to play And the stars waltz and tango and leap As the early bird awaits the new day
I sit on the beach looking out into the gentle ocean. The glow of the day slowly fades and a softness covers everything I can see, marshmallow clouds float through the sky. My toes sink into the cool sand and a gentle breeze flows through my hair. My eyes close and I breathe in the warm sea air, the waves gently lap and the sun sets on another day.
I wrap myself up in my sweater and smile, goodbye day.
