Writings
Disdain for Venezia
One you’d least expect. ‘To put bread on the table for my wife and son. Twenty-seven awful years, mainland living suits me now.’
But look at the sights! To the left, church of Mary, To the right, sorbet. ‘Don’t worry about my thoughts, your pleasure, my employer.’
Rowing and towing, quiet ripples in canal, lovely Sunday ride. Cynicism won’t blind us. Our sour, grumpy gondolier!
Loyalty At War
Battle's fierce embrace, A soldier stands, a stoic face. His vows never sway, In the end, the price is paid. A loyal heart, beyond life’s trace.
Waiting for the day, When freedom will finally ring. Deep down in his heart, He knows it may never come. Chin raised, he fights anyway
Grains Of Sand
Bricks of love are laid, Promises, so sweetly made. The foundation cracks, Loyalty begins to fade. Hearts break, red gives way to black.
Trust once unbroken, Now lies scattered all around. Truths left unspoken, Hatred spewed in words unbound, Love lost, can never be found.
Walls once stood so tall, Now a quiet, crumbling fall. Trust dies as tears fall, Hollow screams in empty halls, Shadows dance, where love once called.
Words, like coins, were spent, In the end, just unpaid debts. Castles built on sand, Washed away by truth's demand, Everything crushed, by your hands.
I love my Dog!
Sing my dying dog Howl for the immortal world Pant from your dead eyes Humid breath hitting me fast Your canine soul ascending
You still feel so young Tiny paws pitter patting Now limp in my palm I’ll ferment with you, here, Dog While we are above the soil
I’ll buy us a bed One final furr to face nap Oh my girl - so dead Someone get my iron gun I can’t leave you alone, run
Till stars light you paths Never heel and keep going Till you find my grave In some sixty sad years time You can show me your new trail
