I chose a different path with different vices

People lose touch with reality

Paying attention to their phones walking into poles

Even twisting their ankles in mole holes

Its tiring doing things.

But its tiring not doing things.

It feels empty to sit around

It feels like theres a gaping open wound begging to be closed by doing something fuffiling.

It feels like im wasting all my time left on earth.

What is this feeling?

Once, we sat with nothing—
just the ceiling and our thoughts,
watching shadows stretch across the wall
like they had somewhere to be.

We let time drip slow,
a faucet not quite closed,
minutes pooling into hours
with nowhere urgent to go.

We lay in fields naming clouds,
not because it meant something,
but because it didn’t.
Because a dragon turning into a ship
was reason enough to stay.
