A Year
Just in time, with old year past.
A fresh new start, build habits fast.
New Years Resolutions, how long will they last?
Filled with memories of playing in snow Each couple awaits a day for their love to show, Bundled with blankets as the cold wind doth blow
Music swells and fills the air As flowers bloom, their colors share Reminded of life, and why we care
Away with the cold, bring in the light Proper weather brings many a delight Remember to keep your veggies in sight
Momentous occasions for kids suddenly free! A party for those who earned a degree Youthful celebrations quite the sight to see
Journeys and trips, gone on vacay Unforgettable times to freely go play Nuptial vows made, love here to stay
Juicy burgers, barbecued meat Under the shade to hide from the heat Loudly running with flip-flop clad feet
Almost done suffering through all the sweat Under the surface, water cool and wet Gliding along until the sun eventually set
Schools start again to children’s frustration Each day’s ending bell a welcome salvation Playing hookey is always a pleasing temptation
Orange-red leaves this season doth host Cooling off weather, no longer to roast Timidly asking “did I see a ghost?”
Nutmeg flavors a delicious drink Orange desserts, and a turkey I think Voracious appetites fills us to the brink
Decorations galore, what colors there are! Each person goes home, no matter how far Completion of a journey ‘round our central star
Months
January is filled with beginning February is filled with love March is filled with happiness While April is filled with joy May is filled with peace June is filled with tears, good or bad July is filled with belonging August is filled with hardship September is filled with decisions November is filled with thanks And December is filled with regrets, as it is the end
The Year
January comes cold for most, a biting wind at the fingers of your gloves February follows quickly, a month filled with sadness or love March then follows, my anniversary month so I’m a bit bias of course Then leading into April, so much rain it creates new lines of shore May straddles spring and summer, who knows what you might get? June arrives, school’s out, but it isn’t getting hot yet? July comes, the peak of heat where we celebrate the 4th, the founding of our land August follows, as we heal our sunburns and begin to get serious about those New Year’s plans September comes with a soft breeze and yellow leaves Orange comes bearing spookiness and more frigid nights November, the second to last, a turkey trot that will surely always last Until we reach December, my, how time has passed
The Year
Start of something new Cold thats frozen
Love is in the air Dreams of the future
Green all around Winter coming to an end
Wet rainy weather Eggs I see in the blades of grass
Something just out of reach Plants starting to thrive
Vacations for a weak Going outside to explore
Fireworks in the sky Heat is rising
Hot out the first few weeks But then school begins
The leaves are staring to grow Harvesting season starts
Colorful everywhere Spooky things are coming out
Weather starting to get cooler Giving thanks around a table
Presents all around the tree The beginning is coming to an end
12 Months in a Year
January is dreary and cold, the tempuratures chilling. If you are so bold, stop this cold from killing.
February is the season of love, chocolates and flowers galore. Love is unending all times of year, more powerful than anything above.
March is the forgotten month, not many think about. The birthdays in this month, have to scream to get their shout-out.
April showers bring May showers, but what else can April do? Most deem April as useless. Which causes April to glower.
May is the end of the school year, a time thought to never end. May is a good month overall, dismissing us from fear.
June is the beginning of summer, a time we have all awaited. Bathing in the heat, school no longer a bummer.
July has fireworks and hotdogs, in the Fourth of July Heat. As we celebrate our independence, and we see relatives we can finally greet.
August is my birthday month, my favorite month of the year. Even though we dred the start of school, my birthday is finally here.
September is rather boring, there is not much to talk about. September birthdays are pretty common, So this gets you a ton of “clout” (??)
October is the spooky season, time for tons of candy. Try not to get a stomach ache, or else your night won’t end dandy.
November is time for turkey, and tons of other food. Say what you are thankful for, and enjoy the festive mood.
December is jolly season, time to spread holiday cheer. As we end the year on a good note, the next year is almost here!

Little leprechaun dancing around Rainbows overhead
The rain is falling Time for tricks
Flowers blooming Big and bright
Scorching heat on the beach Sunburns bright and red
Fireworks lighting up the sky Red, white, and blue
The fun is ending So pack a sack
School is back In full swing
Spooky season’s here And candy to

Sparkly lights Merry times
An Endless Cycle
We always start on a high, Setting new goals and socialising. It takes a long time, But it’s over eventually.
We are tired next, All the talking takes it’s toll. It is not too sorrowful, The sun sets later and later.
There might be a new hope, Thanks to the start of some new beginnings. The flowers sprout, the birds sing louder, The warmth thaws our frozen hearts.
This might be most cheerful, For all you religious folks. I never understood why you celebrate, Your Christ’s death.
Now our hearts are dripping, The frost has melted. Birds sing, lambs bleat, The flowers are all blooming.
The sun sets so late, We enjoy the longer days. We go out with friends, We enjoy the colourful landscapes.
The heat is bearable for most, The children laugh with melting ice creams. School is over now, Everyone is having fun.
It is hot, We always have fans. The ice cream has melted, And most stay indoors.
School is back now, Where did the time go? Some say this is a new beginning, There are so many restarts.
The sun sets later now, And everyone is in a spooky mood. The veil is thin, And the undead come to play.
It is dark, It is colder. Not too cold, though, We can still enjoy ourselves.
The end is very fun, There are many celebrations. Everyone is shocked, It went by so fast!
The Tale of Twelve Months
With a new year comes new dreams and desires Though how many will put in the work that requires? Because January will often hold long snowy days of icy, bitter cold
We're on to month two, a month quite unique With 28 days and a groundhog's opinion we seek Also in February, love is in the air It's kind of a big deal, so singles beware
In March, we remember Dr. Suess and the Ides And March is when the snow subsides According to the legends of old Leprechauns will stop to leave coins of gold
The cold weather finally makes room in April so that spring can bloom Though April often subjects us to many showers How else would we get those beautiful May flowers?
May celebrates Moms and those who have served May we always keep their achievements preserved School is still in, and yes that's a bummer, But Memorial Day is the unofficial start of summer
The ice cream lines get long, the days even longer With summer officially here, the sun gets much stronger It's finally here, the end of school Time to spend your days relaxing by the pool
In July we celebrate red, white, and blue By setting off fireworks, what a spectacular view You thought June was hot? Just wait for July Temperatures reach an all time high
August signals the end of vacation a final chance for summer exploration The Sunday of summer often goes quick One last festival or beach day, take your pick.
September is a fresh start in its own right A new grade with old friends is such a delight September also welcomes fall As the leaves come down, you better break out your shawl
October is best know for spooky season People love screams, so dress up and give them a reason Of course there are things about October that are nice They come in the from of pumpkin spice
In November, we gather to give thanks with our loved ones, converging ranks Afterwards, the holiday season truly begins All of the decorations emerging from their bins
The holidays ramp up, festive, merry, and bright Though the days are short and cold again, joy is at it's height Alas, December is the end, another year come and gone It's hard to believe a new year is soon to dawn
Revolutions
At the dark solstice, the robin reclaimed his place.
Then January was for running amok, a wandering in space.
February found the wren, hiding in the brambles.
There forlorn, and starving into an unforgiving March.
With rains became the change, April is always in flux.
May brought him hope, surely now the light was turning, bringing better luck?
So it is robin’s turn to go now, June is luminous but cruel.
Sweet smelling through July; wren crowed just like a lark.
August is a month of peace, no sparring and no one spurned.
The falling leaves of September, ask for nothing in return.
October, it’s a shortening, partially obscuring night and day.
November leaves us wondering and endless battling, into the fray.
