And realize life started with YOUR invention
Another day, Beginning slow. Chilling in my cave, Damn, I’m brave. Echoeing roars, Following amores. Gaining weight, Having food, Irresistable taste. Joining my friends, Killing some bugs, Laughing in defense, Marking my spots, Nourishing plants, Organic ants, Pissing in trees, Quaking in breeze Rolling in grass Shaking my fur, Teasing a stir. Us in enclosures, Valleys of visitors, We’re the exposures. X has a value, You know we don’t, ‘cause Zoos are boos.
A ray of sunshine pierces through the Blinds. A yawn splits my maw as I rise. Can’t wait. Gotta pee. Tail wagging, Dainty nails clacking on hardwood. “Early bird gets the worm,” I tell my mom. “F- off,” she grumbles but I bark again. Guess she wants to do this the Hard way. I howl my fury. It’s time to get up, my bark pleads. Just get up and let me pee! “Keep your tail on!” Mom grumbles and I smile. Loose curls frame her face as she turns to me. “My God,” she murmurs as she rolls off the bed Now take me out! I bark, with a whine “Odie!” She grumbles holding her head. Prancing around her feet I run to the back door. “Quit it, come on!” The back door opens and I Rush from the house. Tripping on my big paws. Sunshine warms my fur as I do my business. This is the life, I think as the grass tickles my pads. Under the bluest of skies, up before the sun finishes its rise. Very little is as cherished as this. I hear mom at my back, still in the kitchen, With her coffee and a smile. “Xavier,” mom greets happily and I turn, my tail whipping frantically. Yes! That is dad at the door back from his night shift. I rush to the door. It opens and Zoom. I’m there. I kiss them both. Best Morning Ever.
Aa! I’m awake. No need to yell.
Breakfast is ready? Yay! This day is going well.
Catnip is better, but I’ll wait for that at lunch
Drinking this water is filling me up a bunch
Every day, I like to play in the sun
For it is warm, and it is fun!
Grass is golden, and the wind is peaceful
Hmph! Don’t pick me up! It’s distasteful
I like the ground, so please don’t touch me
Just like that, she let’s me go and the-
Klump! That’s the sound of me taking a dump
Look at that, it’s time for lunch!
Minutes after, I start to get bored
No need! Play with a mouse and you’ll be bored no more.
Oh! Look at that! I caught the mouse
Please, now all I have to do is chase it out of the house
Quit! I need to, I’m getting tired
Rest is what I need, it’s much required
Slowly, I find myself a comfy spot
To make sure that my sleep is got
Universe please! Stop making that noise!
Vacuum is what it is, and it destroys!
Where did it go? It disappeared.
Xany, is what it was, but now it’s gone
You know now I will get my sleep on! Goodnight!
Zzzzzzzz
Another morning comes But I can’t help but wonder Could this morning have been different? Different if the humans didn’t ruin it I ponder?
Even after all their attempts to fix it Fires have been unleashed upon my world Gases bursting through the air Hurricanes and tornados whirl
I don’t understand how humans Justified their greedy needs Knowing that hell will be unleashed Later all the world will bleed
