Write an epigram about a family member.

Epigrams are usually short, witty poems of 2-4 lines that rhyme AABB.

My Dad

He’s a work of art

With a big heart,

My dad

Is hella rad!...

Why

Why do you tear me down

Kick me when I’m already on the ground

With words like daggers, sharp and cruel,

You dance on shadows, break every rule.

Yet from the ashes, I’ll rise anew,

Stronger, unyielding, empowered through....

Mother

You are my rock

You are the last to mock

I would never pick another

I love you, my mother...

Aunt Mary

Her Cadillac trunk filled with bits and baubles,

She’s given her love and lost her marbles.

Poodle cremains beneath her seat,

She comes bearing gifts for all she could meet....

She was a big carcinogen fan.

She didn’t give her body any slack.

She fried herself in a tanning bed and smoked pack after pack....

Grumps.

He’s old and very grumpy now

Still thinks he’s got the know how

But at eighty eight he’s gone a little crazy

Won’t be long before he’s pushing up a daisy...

Dirty

You’ve made my life miserable

I hear your name and I bawl

I feel like Jeanette mccurdy

Why’d you have to do me dirty...

Tired

I’m even more tired today

As things have fallen into disarray


You say that It will pass

But I hope each day will be my last



I’m too tired to keep trying

to be your perfect son...

That’s why his face lit up with his new promotion

You can always tell how Aunt Judy feels by her face

That’s why it didn’t come as a surprise when she announced she needed her space...

My Husband

My handsome husband is six foot three.

Today he went on a cleaning spree.

Though I am thankful, I must complain,

That the cups are too high for me to obtain....
