Hiding Place.
Where is your hiding place?
My hiding place is within myself, I create a safe place and go there when I need.
I go there when life gets too tough, I often sit and day dream of the things I want to see.
I go there when I am sad and imagine a peaceful, serene and secluded lake when all is quiet.
I throw rocks into the lake and watch as they skip across the waters.
I watch the ripples it cre...
Hiding Place
When the day is ending and it’s getting dark outside
It’s back in my home where I will hide
To have some dinner and watch tv
That’s how most evenings look to me
Home can be your hiding place
Where there is no one you need to face
Just relaxing alone
Or talking with a loved one on the phone
A hiding place where you can walk around in sweatpants
And have no obligations at hands
Just relax and c...
Hiding Place
Deep within the valleys
Through the forest trees
Along the sandy beaches
Beside the gentle sea
Between the lively festivals
Along the lightened streets
I can’t help but listen for
Your name whispered in the breeze
Running past the cottages
Trekking through the fields
Laying in the land of dandelions
Two of us hidden in the hills
In love in our own paradise
Counting stars in our own space
No one...
Hiding Place Poem
**Hiding Place**
There’s a hollow in the tall grass,
where the world forgets to look—
a bend between the daylight
and the shadowed edge of brook.
I slip into the silence,
where the willow’s branches lean,
and tuck myself in hidden roots
where all the green goes green.
The air is thick with quiet here,
a secret soft and still.
Even time is hushed, as if afraid
its ticking might spill.

Hiding Place
When the world gets too loud
Too bright
Too sharp
Too much
There will always be somewhere that I go
I call it my hiding place
When mommy and daddy have had too much to drink
Or they start arguing
Yelling in each others' face
I creep upstairs
To my favorite spot
Yes, my hiding place
Cocooned under mounds of blankets and pillows
Shielding me from the world
It can't reach my favorite spot
Yes, my hid...
Hiding Place
It’s warm, comforting, and quiet,
It’s also cold, deceiving, and desolate.
It’s a place where my thoughts run wild,
It’s where my body feels like its been exiled.
Why is it so comforting being alone?
In a place where you think you have full control.
Yet the weight of it all feels like a gigantic stone,
Where its only you and a small piece of your soul.

Hiding Place
Thump Thump
The sound of boots on the floor
He never knocks, just opens my door
I whisper a silent prayer
That he doesn’t know I’m there
Hope he turns back around
Then heads
down the stairs
Tap Tap
The sound of his fist against wood
Beckoning me out, he believes I should
Believes I should be at his every beck and call
Thankful I’m not where he thinks I am, at all
My clock across the room st...
Hiding Place
Pass the mountains
And the trees
The rivers
And valleys
The ocean currents
And the raging winds
Away from
Winter’s first snow
And the drizzled
Rain of spring
Far from heatwaves
That welcomed summer
And the leaves waving
Goodbye to autumn
Shielded from the
Chaos of my mind
And the things
That make tears fall
So deep and lost I can’t
Seem to find myself at all
Just another game...
