POEM STARTER
Inspired by Aro
Write a murder mystery poem.
This is not often a theme you see in poetry - how will you use the format and facets of poetry to create a murder mystery?
Writings
In the quiet town where shadows creep,
Lies a secret buried deep.
Whispers in the darkened street,
Speak of a tale incomplete.
The clock struck twelve, the night was still,
A figure moved with silent skill.
In the old mansion, cold and grand,
A sinister plan was close at hand.
The chandelier swung with a ghostly sway,
As footsteps echoed and then went away.
Two screams cut through the midnight air,
Two souls departed, no one there.
The morning dawned with a chilling breeze,
Two bodies found among the trees.
Detectives came, their faces stern,
To solve the riddle, the truth to learn.
Clues and secrets, webs of lies,
Hidden motives and alibis.
In the end, justice sought its due,
The guilty caught, the town anew.
But in the quiet, shadows still creep,
Guarding secrets, dark and deep.
I fantasize about you.
About raising the axe.
It brings a tear to my eye.
I remember packing you up and taking you to Harry’s.
I see you walking to me, to me and only me.
I visited Harry’s to paint the walls white, But it already was.
It was all clean.
Just like that, and you know how hard I’ve tried to cleanse my mind?
[So I plan on making a little series based of the little narrative I made titled {It Was Me?} this the 2nd part I’m making of it, I hope you enjoy. Also this will not be a poem sorry but I struggle with making poems well at least more than with narratives]
Jacob was just chilling at home, acting like today had been uneventful. He thought about today grinning on the inside, his younger self sobbing.
Marie walked in, tears running down her face. Jacob knew why but couldn’t show it. He asked “What’s the matter Marie?” Marie almost screamed in rage “DO YOU NOT WATCH THE NEWS?” Jacob responded in a calming town “I don’t watch the news actually.” Marie responded in between sobbs “ Someone killed Darren, ….. your best friend is dead” Jacob put on the works, he started fake sobbing. “W-Wh-Who Who would d-d do do this?” Adding voice cracks to make it more convincing. Marie and Jacob lay next to each other. Comforting one another, though Jacob doesn’t need any comforting.
Soon Jacob gets a call, it’s the police. Since Jacob was one of the last to see Darren (Though he was actually the last) they need to question him. He quickly heads to the station, to not give off suspicion. He acts like he is sad, concerned and grieving.
The police ask him questions such as, how do you know Darren, where were they when they saw each other, where was he going, would anyone have anything against him etc.
They ended up letting him go. On the way out Jacob was trying to hold back a grin. The police then question other friends and family. The police were frustrated as they had found no leads.
Bang bang! Red within my eyes, Like a deep rose petals. I can’t feel anything. I can’t see anything. I can’t hear anything. Blood dripping down my head.
Nobody will know, Nobody will know. The moment you’re gone, People will wonder Who could’ve done this to you. Yet, they would set glory, To those who found out.
Only I will know, The second before you die. Only I will know. The second shot fire, I can’t feel my breath I can’t feel my heart beat. This is the end of me.
Nobody will know, Not until days later.
"Ladies and...one gentleman..." the guy over the intercom cleared his throat. "I would like you all to join together in the main hall please."
As everyone began cautiously making their way there, unsure of who they could still trust, the man continued.
"As you may know, under very unfortunate circumstances, Ken, Aji, Iam, and Tin have been killed and eliminated."
A screen where Gerald's room was began flashing pictures of everywhere the killed were. Ken and Aji in the electric room, Iam crumpled on the ground in a hallway, and then back to Tin in the electric room.
Savvy nearly leaped onto Lobo's shoulder at the sight of Iam again, but managed to just release a single tear.
Then the guy continued again. "Despite all of this, I believe it is time we vote on who the imposter is. I'll give you until lunchtime tomorrow. Good luck!" the intercom cut out.
"It's Lysalei." Teardrop said immediately, pointing.
"Me?!" Lysalei exclaimed.
"Yea you! You've been really quiet this whole time!" Teardrop stated.
"I guess..." Lysalei trailed off.
"So we're voting Lysalei?" G.C asked.
"No, no. We don't have enough evidence. And it couldn't be you either, G.C. You still look like you wouldn't hurt a fly." Lobo said.
G.C furrowed her brow and pointedly looked away.
"Stop with the accusations." SQ snapped for everyone to pay attention to her. "We need to have an actual conversation about this. Not just some blame game. Everyone say who you think the imposter is. Lysalei, you start."
"I think it's-" she was stopped by a new voice.
"It was me all along!" the voice exclaimed. Skyestarr emerged from the shadows.
"Was it now?" SQ asked.
"Nah, I just wanna get outta here." Skyestarr sighed. "Still haven't found out a way yet. But I will now!" with that, Skyestarr smiled and marched away down a hall.
"Anyway, I was going to say it was Lobo." Lysalei stated when she disappeared.
"M-" Lobo started.
"Hush." SQ commanded, and he did. "G.C, your turn."
"Lobo too." She whispered.
"Teardrop?"
"It's still Lysalei."
"Lobo?"
"Lysalei."
"And Savvy?"
"Lysalei, I guess."
"Then it's decided." SQ smiled. "Sorry, Lysalei."
"What?! Guys, come on! It's not me!" Lysalei cried.
Two men in dark, heavy black suits emerged from an invisible door and grabbed Lysalei's shoulders. They carried her a bit away before forcing her into some kind of hole. She whimpered then disappeared.
The words 'Lysalei was not the Imposter' slid across the screen.
Everyone gasped.
The men returned to their room.
The guy came over the intercom again. "Oh no! Looks like you guys guessed wrong! Back to looking for clues! Better luck next time!" it cut off.
And this begins the final part.
Will the murderer be uncovered? Or will they kill everyone and win?" Find out tomorrow with Mysteries of Red 4...
Rushing Screaming Crying Stabbing
All because you were picked
Rushing Screaming Crying Stabbing
You were picked through
Rushing Screaming Crying Stabbing
an unfair system called
Rushing Screaming Crying Stabbing
The Court...
Rushing Screaming Crying Stabbing
Red against white walls doesn't mix,
Rushing Screaming Crying Stabbing
but on this ship, it does
Rushing Screaming Crying Stabbing
Your smile gets wider
Rushing Screaming Crying Stabbing
as you dig your knife deeper
Rushing Screaming Crying Stabbing
into innocent, unspecting
Rushing Screaming Crying Stabbing
people.
Laid on the floor with your letters spread It embraces me with pain That vain caused a scene
One we can’t revise
One that’s my demise
One is what I’m left with
Split into two
A mystery that murdered me
It’s love can’t be reconvened
It’s end, is my end
Laid on the floor I leave my murder mystery Why didn’t you love me It can’t be recovered I leave you with this Why is love a mystery You leave me with one last wish My memory will be one you miss
One last kiss A rose on a grave A murdered love It’s not a mystery I’m laid out on the floor No longer life to explore
