Not something to be so passionate People say
Why do you love the thought of killing people Others inquire
“Your the baby of the family you have a big heart and you wear it on your sleeve I can’t see you getting behind and killing someone.” -my mom
Let’s the story straight
I chose to pick up a gun an fight Not for the pleasure in death
I chose to support the men and women in camo and combat boots
I have a passion for people Who stand shoulder to shoulder One goal in mind, trained to fight Trained to protect Trained to be loyal
I have a passion for strategic movements One set plan.
I chose to serve
I chose to be a soldier
I chose to protect what’s mine as a soldier To protect the country, and it’s people
I chose to be loyal Though iv broken down
Iv chosen this path
A soldier will never quit
A soldier will always put the mission first
A soldier will never leave a fallen comrade
A soldier will never miss
A soldier always follows orders
A soldier is always loyal
A soldier is a person who’s brave enough to keep death at bay so the country can play
A soldier is a person who is a human but chooses to become a mindless beast when threatened
I chose a soldier’s life
Sometimes I go To somewhere only I know A space for me Set in place When I put on My Bluetooth earphones
The outside audible world Shut off Disintegrated Obliterated And now it’s my world Podcasts, music, Audiobooks Sometimes even ambients sounds Like spring streams, Lapping waves Or even crowded city centres But of my choosing When I want How I want
Oh my Bluetooth headphones My inaudibility cloak My safe space My audio black hole
Wonderfully warm protection Keeps me warm all winter Oh, their my obsession I'd wear one in the hot summer even if I was a sprinter
Colors vary But my love for them does not Not a heavy thing to carry But when it gets hot...
You'll still see me in a sweatshirt Because why not Where whatever shirt Maybe in a tank top when it gets hot
I don't care what you think Don't judge this heavenly piece of clothing There's nothing to rethink Ya, your probably opposing
You judge me all you want But my opinion is my opinion The words LIFEGAURD in a bold font Not because of where I'm from, I'm a Virginian
So whatever, your missing out Pick you color, pattern, and size I won't argue with what you feel right about If someone says something bad about em' they're telling lies.
(I kind lost focus on the whole "Glorifying light" part but I don't care because I'm pleased with how this turned out. Changing something slightly neither hurts nor helps, it's a writing exercise! )
When I read a book I feel like I can fly I love being able to listen, live, look In the characters lives
When I read a book I get inspired Take one quick look And I’m instantly lifted higher
When I read a book I cant put it down Immersed in the scene with Captain Hook Or in the setting of the little town
It’s an amazing gift I have been blessed with To be able to be lifted Into this world of myths
So if you’re bored out of your mind Pick up a sci-fi, a romance, a fantasy And read until you can’t open your eyes Because reading is an amazing thing
If there's something that especially pleases me, It's when the two lines of a triangle make 90 degrees. Less than that might be called "acute", But it's the perfect 90 that's really a beaut!
For obtuse angles, I don't have the time, They're at their worst when they're almost a straight line! God proves her existence by leaving us clues, And there's no clue clearer than the hypotenuse.
I hope you'll forgive me if I come across as rude, But the beauty of right-angles is rarely understood, Only Pythagorus and I have been left with our mouths agape, At this truly and wonderfully perfect shape!
In a mug or styrofoam cup, In a glass as well, In ceramic or stainless steel, Don’t take too long to dwell.
Now pick your additions, There’s so many that you know: Sugar, cream, Cold milk or steamed, Mocha, syrup, sweet foam.
But did you know there’s more than that? Wait until I’m done, Ice cream, honey, butter, mint, And for the leisure, rum.
Oh let’s not forget the roast! Would you like it strong or weak? Do you prefer to drink it plain and bitter? I don’t, but that’s just me :)
So many ways to dress your coffee, There is lots to try, your favorite can change from day to day, Or the same way is always just right.
There is much to tell about someone, A definition of who they might be, Some would say they could read others like a book, By just the way they take their coffee.
O humble bean! Fruit of stone, In the mornings how I groan Till you waft towards my nose, Which shall I pick? I do not know!
Mocha, Long Black, Americano? Turkish, Irish, Cafe Cubano? Latte, Flat White, Cappuccino? Decaf, on ice, Frappuccino!
Drink at home or on the go, With a biscuit or some toast, Never a time I will say no, O coffee! How I love you so.
I know it sounds silly Many just don’t believe I’m looking forward to quietness On this New Year’s Eve.
No clubs or discos tonight No alcohol, no party hats Just a peaceful evening on my own And the company of my beloved cats.
Happy 2022, Daily Prompters Wishing the very best to you all Keep up the talent and creativity May you always stand tall.
