The stars smiled upon us as if they knew we’d soon join them
Air still Vibez tense Stress immense Cold sweats Heavy breaths Start to wonder is this death Tightening around the chest Voice can’t project feels like a noose tightened around my neck Start to question then reflect Feelings of emptiness take effect Nothing to do but accept Stare at the stars realize I’m next Another lost soul in the cosmos Tryna share it’s light before it implodes And all that’s left is a black hole Question lies can I shine before I’m gone
The Stars Were Cruel
The stars smiled upon us As if they knew we’d soon join them The sun’ll cough us out Chewed up and spat like phlegm
They were pretty tonight All glistening and kind But in truth they do us wrong They make us future-blind
The end is near The end is coming So look up at the pretty sky There’s no point in running
Where would we go There’s no escape plan Everything in vicinity, gone Tis the end of our time span
Science said we had plenty of years Just a slim chance that worlds would collide The sun will supernova eventually But tick tock… no need, we’ve got time
Yet here we are Living an absurd reality Something we didn’t think Generations to come would ever see
What would you do With but days left before we leave Hug your loved ones… experience it all Do you rejoice in life or grieve?
Smile Shine Between The Dimmest Star
The stars gleam a silent promise with their gentle glow to find the light even in the darkest of nights .
Wrapped between a blanked of darkness , beside the shadows of doubts , don’t let the negativity shout .
Don’t let your smile waste away , your smile doesn’t have to always stay ; that doesn’t mean you should let the negativity play .
Let your smile change the word , don’t ever let the world change your smile.
(A smile can be viewed different ways so I decided to write the opposing argument and link it to the prompt )
The stars smiled upon us , as if they knew we’d soon join them .
A smile can’t be prayed into exsistence it an emotion we see from a distance .
You see my smile never felt worthwhile , I was always in denial
My smile began to fade with memories lost between the frost of a forgotten land with my happiness tossed aside as I crossed the line.
But still there that voice that echos , you’ve strayed too far with a blade in your grasp hoping today will be your last .
Perhaps too early you say , but today’s my last day to bid farewell to the earth and everything that I was worth .
Soon I’ll be among the twinkling stars between the wrinkle of time to shine above to bring wishes of love .
Don’t you see that dimmed star towards the back that will be me because I lacked that drive to survive .
Loss
The stars smiled upon us As if they knew we’d soon join them
I held you in my arms Your innocent little face breaking my heart A tear rolling down my face
Your little baby giggle making me second guess myself But it was too late
The pavement got closer and closer Oh I’ve never felt so free
Goodbye world Hello stars, please care for my son in heaven
That Stars Knew,They Have Always Known
The stars smiled upon us, as if they knew we would soon join them But how they knew is the question I have to ask How did they know that our lives were not to last
I mean, I knew I would be up there in the skies one day I just didn’t figured it would be before I was turning grey
I mean, they have been watching all of mankind from the moment we were born So I guess they know when it is time for our lives to be done and torn
I am sick and so I probably won’t be here when I am supposed to turn gray And I think about that every time my body starts to decay
A little bit more every day, getting me closer to my death date
Hopefully the stars knew that I lived a good life So that when I am up there I will go to heaven and not be turned down to hell by a knife
So hopefully they know that I’m gonna join them soon So they can have a party for me and have it can happen in my favorite time of the day Noon Getting me closer to my death day or date
Casket
I lay in our casket With your hand Intertwined With mine
Praying for the deep dark days To come back to us For to redo our biggest mistakes To heal the stab wound
For the nights We were up Either making out Or fighting till I cry
So I can call myself the monster While you’re wearing the mask For me to still have you Laying besides me
If you want to break me Just say that you were Always in love with me Before I changed for you
The stars smile above us As if they know That we are Soon to join them
Home
The stars smiled upon us as if they knew we’d soon join them as if their light reaching us were open arms inviting us home home a place we’d never known at least not in this life
The elders used to tell me these stories of home a place they claimed to have known a place with food to spare without drones in the air and kids with no fright in their eyes would grow up and grow old and the only sound at night would be of doves taking flight I would listen to those tales and let anger fill my soul for we would never know of home at least not in this life
We were forced to grow up though we would never grow old in the end it was just the two of us me and her I thought I would be scared when the time finally came but the stars smiled upon us as if they knew we’d soon join them and I knew it too so held her tight and began telling her stories stories of home a place we would soon know if not in this life then in the next
Romeo And Juliet
The stars smiled upon us, as if they knew we would soon join them.
We look into each others eyes. Smiling but tears running down faces.
A first kiss. And our last kiss. It is long. Lovers joining from the moon to the sun.
A last year A last tear A bottle of arsenic A blade. You might call us Romeo and Juliet.
It is the only way. And we don’t feel pain. We feel love.
Nonna & Bimba
“The stars smiled upon us, as if they knew she’d soon join them. She smiled back at them. The sound of her laughter rough from her addiction. It lingered on her like the smell of a perfume. Trapping her in a blanket of the foul scent. A lovely petite three story house. Old white paint slowly chipping off. Slippery stone stairs. ‘Be careful on those stairs.’ Saying that for the millionth time. We never slipped though. My first home. And her last. One day she came over to the house. Like any normal weekend stay. She made do with the couch as per usual. The weekend flew by like a breeze in the wind. No one knew what would happen. How could we? She lived a simple life. Making friends along the way. Had two children. Who went off to create lives of their own. One having only two kids. The other having only four at the time. Her first grandchild Her bimba. ‘Be kind cause you can’t rewind.’ Sometimes I think those are the first words That she ever said to me in that hospital room. Soon the rest of her grandchildren followed. A boy from one, A boy from another. Then three girls from the other. An amazing person, Daughter, Mother, Nonna, Sister, And friend. It is for these reasons I write this To honour her memory. To never forget the one who helped me When my parents couldn’t. So it is on March 9th That I remember the soul that now lays dormant But not forgotten. Amen.”
